I posted this somewhere else, but I'll repost it here. I just watched the leaked videos. I'm still interested in the game and still have it preordered, but I'll post my two cents anyway. Graphics Pros: Face models are better, Dragon models and other models for monsters seem to be MUCH better than Oblivion. DYNAMIC FUCKING SHADOWS makes the game world look a lot better. Cons: I know its the console version, but the textures look awfully muddy. Animations could be better. Annoying third person "knockdown" animations just like in FO3 and NV. Gameplay Pros: It seems to be like Oblivion, gameplay wise. Without the idiotic level scaling system from Oblivion (I AM AWARE IT HAS SCALING, BUT ITS MORE LIKE FALLOUT 3), it could be much more fun potentially Cons: NPCs running into walls and objects, just like all of their other games. NPCs are foolhardy morons, it seems. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME THEY'VE MADE. Combat looks to be mindless hack n slash again. This could be a pro or con depending on what type of combat you enjoy. Sounds Pros: Most NPCs sound pretty varied. All women won't sound like old ladies anymore. I swear, to this day I'll still remember Cyrodiil as the land of the middle-aged people with down's syndrome. Cons: Some of the voice actors sounded uninterested in the dialog they're reading I think this was pretty fair and unbiased, and even though I'm interested in the game, the mediocre AI, mediocre animations, muddy textures, and the general feel of this being Oblivion with Dragons kind of irked me. I'll be playing the PC version so the textures won't be an issue, but, the other things will still remain.
http://vimeo.com/31327794 Youtube is taken down
This is kinda funny in a way "Wait a minute, who are you" "Sorry, just let me change my race, age, sex, body type, and facial features for a second"

Pre-ordered the edition with the big ass statue for the PC. Me and the guys at GameStop talked about the big ass statue.
http://vimeo.com/31327794 Youtube is taken down
Hot damn Zenimax really dont want people to see the game except for what snippets they give them. Pisses me off.

I don't really expect Skyrim to have any groundbreaking AI or animations. It's an open world game focusing on exploration and playing how you want to. Honestly I can't think of any open world games I've played that have had flawless animations, perfect AI and gorgeous textures. They're more about just the fun of doing whatever you want and going wherever you want. I look forward to this in Skyrim, and in all honesty if the NPC's are anything like they are in Oblivion then I won't mind. Sometimes I'd get a kick out of their moronic behavior.
I wonder if Bethesda will attempt to fix some of this stuff now that it is exposed to the public?
Day 1 patch maybe. Maybe not
Hot damn Zenimax really dont want people to see the game except for what snippets they give them. (Although Pete Hines said it was because they were filled with spoilers, That's not the real reason) [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] It might have impacted sales already who the fuck knows?
I didn't like Oblivion, but I loved Fallout 3, so I don't know whether I should get Skyrim or not. :pwn:
I didn't like Oblivion, but I loved Fallout 3, so I don't know whether I should get Skyrim or not. :pwn:
Its not like Fallout 3 and Oblivion were similar games aside from the engine. Ones an apocalyptic burnt out hellhole of a world with guns and rape, the other is a lush forest environment with swords and spell. It really depends.

And Pete Hines said when you work on a game for so many years it's really frustrating to have part of it spoiled prematurely, which I can understand.
Especially twelve days before release. I mean just wait a bit ffs. Also I hoped people would learn their lesson after the infamous hl2 beta leak that caused the game to be hugely shortened and completely reworked. It had its good points (better models for the most part) but it fucked up a huge part of the game as well.

Anyone have another link for that video they posted all the links i've found have already been taken down
Two groups of people in here (mostly): 2: Making excuses for all the bad of the game. Here's a reality check, the PC won't magically fix everything, anything that's wrong with the game (in the leaked video) will probably still be on release.
Yeah because we'll all be playing sub 720p, have low anisotropic filtering settings, be without AA and have texture streaming quality on low.
Yeah because we'll all be playing sub 720p, have low anisotropic filtering settings, be without AA and have texture streaming quality on low.
we're the kings and queens of first world problems
Yeah because we'll all be playing sub 720p, have low anisotropic filtering settings, be without AA and have texture streaming quality on low.
pro-tip: the 360 has AA built in as a separate chip. 360 games always have AA.
I know right, I can't believe they are telling us we need top of the line hardware that will make us poor to run this, like a 260, 4gb of ram and a decent quad core is ridiculous, I can't afford that. Casual Fags ruin everything.
Nice strawman, I don't give a shit about the graphics really I can just see where he's coming. Stop getting so butthurt at any slight criticism.
Ok, guys. I don't want to watch the intro and spoil the beginning for myself. However, I would like to know if it's up in the air why you're there. (Like how in Oblivion you were just in a jail and YOU made the reason)

(Well not exactly like it, it's more awesome IMO.)
I didn't like Oblivion, but I loved Fallout 3, so I don't know whether I should get Skyrim or not. :pwn:
I loved Oblivion, but I hated Fallout 3..
Define "Crysis quality", you seem to be overstating what that is.
The over-use of particle effects like bloom, motion blur and all that to make it look pretty
