I like how a ton of people complained about the opening. Because Bethesda have always been good at making a good cinematic gameplay experience with solid opening, right? Right? [sp]No they suck at it just like they suck at animations but their games are still brilliant[/sp]
I thought the opening was the best of all TES games so far. They've out done themselves this time.
Yeah, it's a hell of a lot better than Oblivion's opening at least.
Naturally. In Morrowind you just casually walk off a boat and start your way toward Balmora. Not too bad. Oblivion you just go through some dungeons and get a Amulet thrown at your face and pushed into some sewers, then head off to a Priory. Skyrim you [sp] get thrown off a prison cart and inspected by Imperial Legion troops who decide a version of you without a head would be a good person and before they get a chance one of the Jills comes and spreads doomsday at the Imperial Fort. You struggle for your life and go through chaos itself to end up thrust into Skyrim's beautiful landscape and take in all it's glory. That...is how you start a game.[/sp]
On the eve of Skyrim I finally make a human looking character in Oblivion, hell I'd be willing to use it in Skyrim if I can.
You mean the epic ending of the song? for the king, for the king, for the sake of skyrim..
THOSE ARE NOT THE WORDS AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH
This wait is torture, I need something to do. One can only play bf3 for so long.
Collectors Edition unboxing
So the map is not made of cloth I'm guessing :v And hollow cheap plastic base. The dragon looks cool though, but I think I'd be most interested in the art book, which actually seems pretty nice.
On the eve of Skyrim I finally make a human looking character in Oblivion, hell I'd be willing to use it in Skyrim if I can.
I bet it was an argonian.
What the hell are these [sp]Jills[/sp] everyone keeps talking about?
It's: Dovahkiin Dovahkiin Naal ok zin los vahriin Which translates to: Dragonborn Dragonborn By his honor is sworn
I thought the opening was the best of all TES games so far. They've out done themselves this time.
I'm not saying it was bad. I think the idea of it was excellent but it probably could've been executed better, especially if they had a proper [sp]gallows and jail carts ala planet of the apes[/sp] and could draw more NPCs (looking back to the days of [sp]public executions[/sp] they were very popular). I'm just saying it wasn't very cinematic or fast paced, there wasn't a huge sense of danger. But not like any other TES game has done better. I rather enjoyed it and the people bitching aren't really bitching over anything big. "Elbows too pointy cancelling preorder"
I propose Australians be banned from the thread the day before the game's release, seeing as they'll have it because they're a backwards ass people who are from the future.
I am so happy, this is the only game that will not be spoiled for me by unaware Americans/Europeans.
I bet it was an argonian.
It was actually an Imperial yet I can't get the image from Steam screenshots to something I can use to upload the pic.
So, if anyone has already heard about that Skyrim hardcore mode thing some people are doing with a real leatherbound journal and stuff, any idea what would be a good place to buy a journal like that for a continental European such as myself?
Ugh, I want this for the computer, but if I update my drivers my computer will start to randomly freeze. So if I get this, and it requires me to get new drivers, it was a giant waste of money until I muster the balls to update my vBIOS, which can brick my motherboard. So, is there some way to see if this will run with my current stock drivers?
What the hell are these [sp]Jills[/sp] everyone keeps talking about?
[sp] Jills are Alduin's loyal servants, also known as the black dragons. They aren't the brownish/greyish dragons that everyone sees and has claimed they are Jills, they are actually black dragons, look almost onyx or obsidian in color and they bear some resemblance to Alduin itself. Either way, they can use Dragon shouts as effectively as the Dovahkiin can and do NOT fuck around. You could consider them the Elite bosses.[/sp]
I'm not saying it was bad. Seemed more like an army base of sorts. Though I could be wrong there and I missed something in the video. That could explain the lack of...public 'affection' during the executions? Maybe?[/sp]

I'd just advise looking in that sort of market with a variety of stalls for different things
I propose Australians be banned from the thread the day before the game's release, seeing as they'll have it because they're a backwards ass people who are from the future.
Do I need explain VPNs to you yet again? You can unlock the game as soon as it comes out somewhere in the world and said timezone has a free VPN you can use. So if it comes out in Australia first and you have a free Australia VPN you can trick steam into thinking you're in Australia and it unlocks the damned game.
Link anywhere on this 'hardcore' mode?
Can't find a good one, but the idea is basically that instead of using the in-game journal, you keep all your quest logs and shit in a leatherbound journal. In the really hardcore mode, you also don't use the in-game map and instead draw your own map, keeping note of major landmarks. Personally if I find a good journal I'm also going to include a bestiary.
Don't think I've seen this one before [editline]31st October 2011[/editline] They know I have a hand!
What I'm thinking is that, you know how in oblivion if you killed some innocent citizen, you got that message above saying "Your killing has been observed by forces unknown.......", I bet instead of getting that message, you'll get that scroll when you wake up from sleeping. Because if you notice from the picture it appears the person is in a house, next to what could be a bed.
How do you know updating your drivers will do this? Can you see into the future?
I have tried updating my drivers from the stock drivers before, it started freezing everything so I reverted back to stop the freezing. It isn't the drivers fault, it is the computer.
It's a handprint, and looks exactly like the ones I made in kindergarten.
Brb calling DICE so they can sue you

The only thing I dislike about the opening is how the title just sort of begrudgingly appears. Well, you know, just the fact that there's no real intro cinematic annoys me a bit. Every Elder Scrolls game has had a relatively awesome intro cinematic before the real tutorial.
I thought the opening was the best of all TES games so far. They've out done themselves this time.
I don't see why everyone expects them to do some really amazing opening or anything Hell this was pretty much Morrowinds: "Hello prisoner, you are now free by the emperor's orders and we've dropped you off here at the Census Office in some fishing town. Get your records and you are free to go! Oh, and don't forget to deliver this package to our agent." Wasn't exactly ground breaking stuff, but it worked well for the game. If anything it was nice for people who who make multiple characters because it was so quick to go through. Plus it did one important thing: made the player feel like he wasn't the center of the earth. The player had to gain power from being a nobody to a hero on his own, and there was a lot of fun discovery in that. While in oblivion, right from the start people are "YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE WOMG!" I doubt that skyrim will differ too much from Oblivion in that reguard, but at least I hear that the MQ won't be so urgently paced right from the start this time around.
The game unlocks in 1 week, 3 days and 7 seven hours everywhere. So...
