Y'know if he managed to get a leaked copy of the game so early chances are he really followed a lot Skyrim's news, which means he should logically know perks exist and how to do basic things.

Also it took me three seconds in Oblivion to figure out the combat system and use it well - same for the inventory and the whole menus. It's not that complicated nor hard.
