and on the topic of the voice actors, I hate talking to somebody then talking to the person next to them and they sound exactly the same and the guy that I've forgotten the name of, the one at weynon priory that helps you find the heir to the throne, some times the audio is incredibly bad quality
or we could just get a keychain and a dragon figurine
And 3d glasses bitches love 3d glasses
Will Skyrim be released on the 11.11.11 outside of the US too? any information about that?
11/11/11 is a Friday, of course it's coming out at the same time everywhere.
Just curious, you think this game will be big enough for a midnight release?
Yes.
Just curious, you think this game will be big enough for a midnight release?
Drunk people imitating Vikings buying the game shouting, sometimes singing, glorious tunes about Dovahkiin? I say yes. You know what? It's high time I started a viking longhouse and dub it "That where you will get massively drunk then buy skyrim, play it then post online what you did"
Just curious, you think this game will be big enough for a midnight release?
Not only will I show up to it, but I'll dress in all black and carry a nerf bow. Also, I'll sneak around, trying to sneak apples into people's pockets.
I have never seen any omods for morrowind or even knew MWMM existed.
This has probably been said before but why does your male character always have to sound wimpy/young? I would expect being a massive nord warrior who slays dragon to sound a bit beefier then this.
got oblivion for PC to get me ready for some skyrim fun, what would you guys say are the essential mods?
I think it would actually be pretty cool if some of the stuff from Infinity Blade were converted over to Oblivion, especially some of the armor. http://www.epicgames.com/infinityblade/manual/helmets.html http://www.epicgames.com/infinityblade/manual/armor.html
That stuff looks awesome, aesthetically speaking.
http://knotstheinane.blogspot.com/p/oblivion-modding-guide.html
To be honest, I wouldn't recommend installing like tons of mods what drastically change the game when doing a first playthrough or I am just the only one who would like to appreciate the game like it was made during my first playthrough.
I only use environment mods, my mod count right now is four. I don't like changing Oblivion much either, no point in it for me. But I would rather link someone safe and effective mods if they're going to do it anyway.

Ancient Norse Viking berserkers are said to have eaten magic mushrooms before going into battle... I shall follow suit
I'm curious why they couldn't have just used programmers/their families for voices in Oblivion. Granted the quality of the voice acting wouldn't have been great, it would have been better than having as few actors as they did imo
Because if you've ever been in a sound booth trying to take peoples voice recordings you'd learn quite quickly that people who aren't in any way experienced actors, don't giver performances that lend themselves to being either repeated or immersing. I've done ADR(automated dialogue replacement) for films, and even getting those actors to do that is difficult.
Is anyone else going to Quakecon this week? I'll be going to the Skyrim presentation, although I doubt there will be any NEW info. If there is I'll be sure to post what I saw.
What the fuck is up with me felling the first spellcaster in the Arena with a single Weak Fireball. What the fuck.
What the fuck is up with me felling the first spellcaster in the Arena with a single Weak Fireball. What the fuck.
Difficulty bar?
Difficulty bar?
35%.
Fuck that. Ancient Norse Viking berserkers are said to have eaten magic mushrooms before going into battle... I shall follow suit
You aren't ancient, and norse. You'll just go into the fetal position as soon as you see a tree.
Welp, did the Grey Prince's quest and finished him off in the ramps from the Bloodworks so it wasn't a humiliation-fest. Still think the Armor of Valor looks like a tank-top.
My god, even the houses in the Shivering Isles remind me of Morrowind.

They're amazing.
A story I made about potential drunkeness in Skyrim: After a long day at the Arena our big Nord hero Dovahkiin visits the finest tavern in town and, to put it bluntly, drinks the tavern dry and then some. At this point the screen blacks out and Dovahkiin slowly wakes up in a mysterious bed, a yellow blur and a face out of focus are the only things he can clearly picture and suddenly he hears the person laying in front of him say "By Azura, by Azura, by Azura..." [editline]1st August 2011[/editline] Stupid question: Do texture replacers affect performance?
Stupid question: Do texture replacers affect performance?
If they enlarge the textures, then expect it to alter the performance.
If they enlarge the textures, then expect it to alter the performance.
What if they're the same size as the largest texture size in-game but you've set the texture size to the lowest?
35%.
why was this rated funny, I never take the difficulty beyond 50% in any games using this system If it takes me more than a few hits with anything (be it a sword, bow or gun) to kill your standard mooks, and they're taking half your health with each swipe, then the (lazily implemented) difficulty slider is too high and you're making the game less fun. Elite mooks/bosses should result in brushes with death but dying all the time to bog-standard bandits when you're meant to be the hero is not fun. [editline]1st August 2011[/editline]
What if they're the same size as the largest texture size in-game but you've set the texture size to the lowest?
The texture size setting ratchets up the texture compression, if the hires textures you have are mipmapped (which a lot of them aren't) then they'll scale down with the texture size setting, otherwise they'll stay the same quality and sap your performance. The real question you need to ask yourself is why install hires texture mods if you're gonna need to scale them down anyway to make them work?
