drunk Dovakhiin adventures
Getting REALLY drunk should make you black out in the tavern, wake up in a completely different town with some stuff missing from your backpack, a new item or two you don't remember buying, and notes about sexual appreciations or epic quests you don't remember embarking on.
That was the next question.
If you want a slight visual boost with roughly the same performance try the normal map replacers: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38204

This. But if they don't put it in the game, there should definitely be a 'drunken adventures' mod. I don't think it'd be that hard to do, either. I mean, they won't have to actually create anything except notes. Not sure how someone could do the item switching, though.

Umm... I'm back on the upstairs computer (the oneyou were all fainting at the outdatedness of) so I'm talking about Morrowind here.
Is there a way to steal the things from the actual store stock in oblivion? Like you can in fallout 3.

well I didn't know so um
you're not gonna be running any texture packs on that PC, not even on morrowind

not without cheating, though you can noclip under the floor and steal stuff from the vendor chest
Oh, the vendor chest is under the floor. Don't some shops have it somewhere in the store locked?

I use better bodies and better heads...
You can actually get married now? Finally, my characters will no longer be lonely saps anymore!
Does that mean my character can be a modernized normal human with a family instead of a lone murderer who uses unsuspecting victims as test subjects for horrible torture spells?

Yes. I've been wondering - why spend valuable dev time on a main quest at all? Why not just pile on the immersion gimmicks?
So would you guys recommend the Morrowind.exe optimiser?
So, considering picking up the Oblivion 5th Anniversary Re-release for PS3 soon. (For the record, no, I do not care about mods.)
Worth it? All I care about is the vanilla game, which is why I plan on buying Skyrim for PS3 as well.
You're asking if Oblivion is worth it or that the 5th Anniversary edition is 'better' in some way when compared to a different copy of Oblivion? Yes Oblivion is worth it, especially if you've never played it before. I'm not sure what is so special about this new edition however, i'm sure it's the exact same thing in a new package to get people hyped for Skyrim.

It's basically the original pre-order bonuses packed with the game as a rerelease. However, it's only $30, which is $10 more than the GOTY costs at Gamestop.
And since I recently obtained a very large sum of money, that's fine.
EDIT: 5th Anniversary Edition contents:
The Complete Oblivion Saga - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Expansion Pack and The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Expansion Pack.
Collector's Steelbook - A beautiful collectible metal case masterfully embossed with Daedric symbols.
Making of Oblivion - A behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Oblivion.
Oblivion Game Map - A full-color map of Cyrodiil and the Shivering Isles.
Savings on Skyrim - Contains a $10 mail-in rebate offer for the purchase of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and a Skyrim strategy guide.
So... Yeah. I've also never played through Oblivion before (Only morrowind, and even then, never finished it), so I'd like to pick this up.
EDIT EDIT: Sadly, it doesn't have any of the DLC available to Xbox or PC users, and it doesn't have trophy support... But it's an Elder Scrolls game that I don't have, haven't played, and would like to enjoy before getting Skyrim. Plus, $10 off Skyrim at launch. My PC can't run it, so I'm forced to buy for consoles. Which is a shame, but what else am I going to do about it?
Should I back up my Morrowind folder before actually modding the game?
I use better bodies and better heads...
well done, that must be at least 10 extra polys, I bet your computer's seriously sweating it

Probably best, unless you want to reinstall from the disk every time something goes wrong (morrowind is a leetle more testy when it comes to modding than oblivion, it doesn't tolerate as much abuse).

It can run at the second highest resolution except in that club added in The Underground 2.

Was beautiful
Are there any mods that freshen up Oblivion's look? And maybe something to fix up the HUD. There's something wrong with the HUD, but I can't put my finger on it.
DarNified UI for the HUD
Everything seen in the above Machinima to freshen up the look
RPS posted that video earlier about the Diablo 3 not supporting mods issue

I use Darnified UI, it doesn't look too bad and is nicely configurable. I've made it look kinda Skyrim-esque.
