I'm glad bows and arrows are actually effective in this game.

Hated it when I'd have to shoot 4 or 6 arrows in an NPC's head just for them to die in oblivion.

It's a Steamworks game so you just use the key on Steam.

I watched that 41 minutes of mage-warrior gameplay, and I gotta say, the combat looks a lot like Oblivion. In fact, the whole game looks a load like Oblivion. I'm really hoping the combat feels better than it looks, because I wanna have fun melee fights in my Elder Scrolls Games, and so far they've all been kinda lacking, being honest. And I'm still playing through Dark Messiah over and over again just hoping for another game with swordfights as great as that, and I can't help but be disappointed when I see the fighting in Skyrim.

I might be able to help you and anyone else that may have your question. Please note that since the game isn't out yet, certain details may not be confirmed and little is known about race bonuses at the time of writing:

The class system has been removed, it's been replaced with certain Obelisk-like stones will help certain skills level faster depending on which one is activated.

[U]Race[/U]

[I]-Recommended for Mages-[/I]

[B]Breton:[/B] Bretons have had resistance to magicka in previous Elder Scrolls Games. They also have slightly more total magicka then most races, although High Elves have more. This race makes good Counter-Mages.

[B]Altmer:[/B] Altmer have had the most total Magicka then any other race in the past games. They may have the most Magicka in Skyrim too. Unfortunately in earlier games they had weakness to all kinds of magic. they regenerate Magicka faster then any other race in Skyrim. If you can get past the weakness, they can be one of the best Mage-type characters around.

[I]-Recommended for Thieves/Archers-[/I]

[B]Khajiit:[/B] Faster then most races in earlier games, Khajiit are good thief type characters. Khajiit also have increased Hand-To-Hand damage in Skyrim. They may have a speed bonus as well.

[B]Argonian:[/B] Although not as fast as Khajiit, Argonians make good thieves too with their Lockpicking, Alteration, Light Armor, Pickpocketing, Restoration, and Sneak bonuses.

[B]Bosmer:[/B] Your average tree-hugging J.R.R. Tolkien elves, but with more animal mind control. They have a greater power that lets them control an animal for a period of time. They also have resistances to disease and poison. they have bonuses in Archery, lockpicking, alchemy, pickpocketing, and sneak. They make great archers and thieves.

[I]-Recommended for Warriors-[/I]

[B]Orc:[/B] Masters at crafting and Heavy armor. They receive a bonus to Heavy Armor, Blacksmithing, and Enchanting. They make great Barbarian-type characters.

[B]Redguard:[/B] Redguard have been known as Adventure-type characters. They had blade bonuses in the past, but not much is known about them at all for Skyrim. Best guess is that they might be better at one-handed and block. All that is known is that they have the Adrenaline Rush greater power. A good fighter-type character with a sword and shield. They also have [i]bitchin'[/i] afros.

[B]Nord:[/B] Nords had Cold resistance in previous games and Endurance bonuses. In Skyrim they will have a greater power that scares enemies and have a bonus to One-Handed weapons. They make good alternatives to Orcs and good against Ice-type enemies.

[I]-Other-[/I]

[B]Dunmer:[/B] Not much is known about the Dunmer at this time, although it is known their Greater power is to create a shield of fire around him/herself dealing fire damage to anyone attacking them. They also have fire resistance. Good against Fire-type enemies. If they're anything like the last two games, they make a decent light armored Battlemage if not a scout with magic.

[B]Imperial:[/B] Imperials have a better way with negotiating with people then other races. They start off with increased Gold bonuses and a Charm ability. This race is usually labeled the "Balanced" race.
