If the dvd version requires steam, then it won't be cracked until release. If on the other hand dvd version is standalone, it might.
Steam encryption cannot be broken and yes, some files like exes are not in the preload, they never are for obvious reasons.

Sure, a collector's edition is nice, but what's the point? The only person who really needs to know how dedicated you are to The Elder Scrolls is yourself. It's not like you have to buy it to prove you're a fan.

Only downside is not able to play at midnight, Unless it comes out at American midnight internationally.
