It does seem like pre-release expectations have dropped off a cliff over the last week, but this is one of the few games where you really can't know until you've personally experienced it. I can't imagine it being truly bad though, this is still a Bethesda game.

That's a good or bad thing depending on how much you liked Oblivion and if you can overlook certain flaws that still remain in Skyrim.

But things they've been touting like alchemy, hunting and smithing are basically just simple systems. I'm still annoyed that any hide you get is basically turned into leather. I was hoping you could make wolf-skin armor or leather armor with different type of fur but nope.. Melee combat is about the same, swings feel a bit heavier. Magic is improved (basically Bioshock 2's plasmid system) and I've not seen enough archery gameplay to have an opinion of that.

The common esm-database structure usually has entries about races and factions, by the means of those text-strings you can determine all NPCs that match said criteria. In no less than one minute you could find all children and target them as non-essential NPCs. Proceed with Nord axe to face. So far about the very basics of modding.

oh god[/QUOTE]I think it has to do with your time zone. IIRC they said they were going to release it at 12:01AM Eastern so that it comes out at the same time for everyone. Meaning that if you live in the west, you'll be getting it late on the 10th rather than early on the 11th.
