Nope. Those 2 little buttons to the left of the wheel change the speed. Very easy to use while playing. That button you are looking at when pressed turns the wheel to unlocked scrolling which means it won't stop scrolling when you spin it.

Speed control is to the left of the left mouse click. The middle button controls your fast scroll ability (no clicking) and the buttons on the side do forward/backward/etc.
It's not hard to use at all. Need to change your speed in-action just move your finger over half an inch and wa-la!
