For me it's not the actual animations I have a problem with, it's more the blending between them, looks sort of wacky at times. That's not to say this will be a bad game, oblivion did the blending of animations horribly but I still remember playing it for hours at an end, enjoying every minute of every hour.

I just got done playing Uncharted 2, a game from 2009, and it's infinitely more polished and refined than Skyrim, in 2011. The animations aren't amazing, no, but they're fine for me. The rest of it however, looks and sounds great to me.

They look good IN COMPARSION - but they don't look good. It has the lighting, textures and models only marginally better than something you'd expect in Resident Evil 4, on gamecube.

You're comparing a game like Uncharted to an open-world RPG?
You expect a game of this size and this open to look like Uncharted?

I really couldn't give two shits about how the game looks or how whacky the animations may be. If it plays anything like Oblivion I'm gonna get years of enjoyment out of it.

The world exploring, the atmosphere, the interactivity with the world, the large number of stories and quests, the world itself, the dragons, the RPG aspects of the game as they've shown them so far.

In terms of refinement, attention to detail, and how the game is crafted. Yes, any game can be compared to any game in that respect, it's down to the skill level of the developer. If Naughty dog were developing Skyrim I guarantee you it'd be a million times better than the schlock you guys are praising.

But there's literally no point in arguing. I think the game looks bottom of the barrel awful, as do most others with a screwed on head. The thing is that's an unflattering shot of Crysis, everyone here knows full well how amazing it looks in 80% of the game areas. I am going to assume that developer released shots of Skyrim are going to be from the best it can look. And besides, the main problem with that pic from Crysis is a severe lack of antialiasing.

For starters, those images have some shadows. So far in all the released videos, there are no shadows. Second of all, those are really tiny shots, the awful textures won't be as glaring.
