Seek help. While killing has been a cornerstone of many games, killing children is kind of pushing it.
[SUP][SUB] Seiteki banned BigOwl for 7 Days in Gaddafi Deserved To Die with the reason “You need to learn how to calm down.”[/SUB][/SUP] Please do this. It's a game and he was joking. “You need to learn how to calm down.”
Okay heres whats happening. My dad has ordered skyrim for pc from game, he will be recieving it on thursday. And ive ordered off steam, the question is.. If pre-load goes shit and i cannot get it to download in time for 12AM, can i use dads cd to install and use my CD key that came with my steam bought edition?
well. I dunno. it kinda works with San Andreas, but it wouldn't count on it. He mostly sounded like the old broken record of "if you kill in Video-Games, you're a real killer and should seek help! What if you killed someone!"
I have to question why people would want to kill children.
I'd rather not have children in the game at all if they're invincible. It completely breaks the immersion when something simply reacts by telling me to go away if I hit it with my giant battle axe. Especially in these kinds of games.
Imagine a dragon attacking a town and starting to chase the kids in all eternity because they're invulnerable. THAT'S why kid-invulnerability is fail. NOT because i can't wait to rip them apart or whatever.
I'll have to ask you to calm down about that. It's a video game for christ sake. If you can't handle it then fuck off or something. It's people like you who are responsible for the Australian and German censorship system. You know, the one where Adults don't have a right to choose what they can handle in fiction themselves. Just saying. I don't really care about the "kill kids" deal. Yet Little Lamplight's mayor and their town-whore pissed me off to the point of violent dismemberment.
If the game's children were killable, I would have no problem with it I would just avoid doing it at all costs, you have to consider that Bethesda is a business and the idea of killing children isn't exactly the most widely popular idea, and sometimes you have to compromise. If it means that much to you, you can download a mod because I assure you it will be out the day of release. But yes, I should calm down, because I totally went off at you.
I have to question why people would want to kill children.
Immersion, for those times when you really just want to slaughter a village for some reason.
If you could kill kids the media would proclaim the game as "Child murder simulator"
can i use dads cd to install and use my CD key that came with my steam bought edition?
I don't know but you could try backing up your dad's skyrim then using that.
Just looking back over the last few pages, still comparing the leaked streams to the final product, I see.
Immersion, for those times when you really just want to slaughter a village for some reason.
Slaughter all the adults and leave the children to starve. It's much more sadistic :v: [editline]7th November 2011[/editline]
Point insta-invalidated. Not that he was making much of a point anyway.
Just looking back over the last few pages, still comparing the leaked streams to the final product, I see.
It pretty much is the final product... [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] I doubt they'll release a day one patch or anything.
Psychic guards, this sucks.
But yes, I should calm down, because I totally went off at you. [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] I wasn't angry in that post, and I'm not angry in any of these.
I wasn't exactly going off at you either. I just assumed that you were some pretend crusader and pointed you to the past 30 years of gaming in which killing civilians has only become acceptable in the early 2000s... at least according to mainstream media. I don't want to kill the kids just like i don't want to kill the civilians... unless my character suddenly decides that it's a good idea. I just don't want some dragon to lock onto a kid in an attempt to kill it and never change target again leading to awkward game-moment #403. Most people wouldn't give a shit if the kid died in a raid or something. That is, until the retarded mainstream media gets there and hollers about the anti-biblical and ethical messages in the new Satanist simulator as they always do. I fucking HATE western media in general. Too intrusive and too pretentious about the importance of their own views. So yeah. You're not a crusader, i'm not a kid-murderer. We're ok.
Psychic guards, this sucks.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFfffffuck
I'll probably download a kid killing mod just due to the fact that if a dragon did attack a town, id like to be horrified as it sets the kids on fire. It'd give me a feeling of 'Wow, this is actually serious shit'
Psychic guards, this sucks.
Wow why is Bethesda such a pathological liar? Seriously, I could've sworn that they said that if you kill someone alone or all witnesses of a crime, your bounty would be nonexistent...
Immersion, for those times when you really just want to slaughter a village for some reason.
Kill a village for something like nerd rage.
Slaughter all the adults and leave the children to starve. It's much more sadistic :v:
I pretended to do that with Little Lamplight. Then i felt sorry for the twins :smith:.
It pretty much is the final product... [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] I doubt they'll release a day one patch or anything.
There's still a few graphical arguments. Despite known bugs with the leaked copy and the low quality of most video footage anyway.
Wow why is Bethesda such a pathological liar? Seriously, I could've sworn that they said that if you kill someone alone or all witnesses of a crime, your bounty would be nonexistent...
Have not watched it, but what happened?
Wow why is Bethesda such a pathological liar? Seriously, I could've sworn that they said that if you kill someone alone or all witnesses of a crime, your bounty would be nonexistent...
He did have a companion with him though, sucks if that doesnt affect it.
Actually. I think that it's an insult to your ability to make considered choices that they just decide "these guys can't die because we don't think that's right". New Vegas stayed mostly from doing this and the GTA series don't either. Shoot who the fuck you want, but you must deal with the consequences. You're either busted or wasted which means losing all your weapons OR you lose the quest or must "stop right there criminal scum!" It's a serious immersion breaker and it's what sets a good RPG apart from a bad one. Freedom of choice under responsibility. It's part of the reason why the newer games from Bioware really feel like a guided tour. That and the narrative. So many smoke screens.
Have not watched it, but what happened?
Guards automatically know that you have commited crimes.
Wow why is Bethesda such a pathological liar? Seriously, I could've sworn that they said that if you kill someone alone or all witnesses of a crime, your bounty would be nonexistent...
I feel like in theory that's what should happen, but they're just not good enough coders to make it work properly.
Psychic guards, this sucks.
Looks like his companion ratted him out. Seems to be a bug.
There is no "pushing it". Videogames are separate from reality.
Games can be used a theory of morality. But it all comes down to opinion. Some people want to just deattach and play a game, people like me see it as expression and art and something deeper.
a guard was clearly standing behind him when he killed him....?
He came into the room. Hence the "Oh, they're already here." [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] And if you're talking about his companion then that's not a guard.
a guard was clearly standing behind him when he killed him....?
No that was a Companion, not a guard, the Guard came in through the door.
In the end, I guess what I'm trying to say is, its just a game, but if it gives you a moral choice. Then It kind of says something about you, when you do an evil thing, simply because it's a "game" or has no consequence. Protip, this is how sociopaths work. :eng101:
