People have done it for Battlefield 3 as well, no one got banned.
Yeah, I used it for BF3 as well. I'm just a bit concerned though since it's my first time using it for a game on Steam.
So does it work on 8 for anyone?
Bah, I've tried three times over 10 min and I still can't connect. Error 800 every time.
Must connect to VPN, need Skyrim now.
There must be something wrong here, I don't remember any other game taking 10 minutes to install the Microsoft.NET framework
I'm doing my best not to go over any spoiler tags. Too much of a temptation.
Anyone gonna be like me and just wait for it to release? (9 hours left here).
Because I'm running Windows 8 atm and I get this bullshit
You should really dual-boot it with windows 7 if you plan to do anything serious on your computer, at least until 8 is in RC status.
Really hope it unlocks the same time as finland or unlocks at all here.
People have done it for Battlefield 3 as well, no one got banned. And what if all those people just visited Australia and coincidently used the same PC in the same internet cafe to activate Skyrim?
Battlefield™ 3™ wasn't on Steam though. Unless I missed it somehow, and I'm the biggest moron in the world for having Origin™, Fucking EA™.
You should really dual-boot it with windows 7 if you plan to do anything serious on your computer, at least until 8 is in RC status.
I was planning on dual-booting, then 8 went all fuck that and didn't bother putting 7 into the bootloader.
Anyone gonna be like me and just wait for it to release? (9 hours left here).
Mhm. 6 Hours here.
Yeah, I used it for BF3 as well. I'm just a bit concerned though since it's my first time using it for a game on Steam.
You can read the Steam Subscriber Agreement, there is nothing about region unlocks or usage of VPNs. The only reason for terminating your account is cheating or illegal behaviour:
Valve may terminate your Account or a particular Subscription for any conduct or activity that Valve believes is illegal, constitutes a Cheat, or which otherwise negatively affects the enjoyment of Steam by other Subscribers.
Using a VPN isn't illegal, as pretending you're in a different country is a very specific use of them. They are used mainly for accessing enterprise networks and providing extra security.
I'll be streaming skyrim on high quality www.livestream.com/swearblocked
Yeah, I used it for BF3 as well. I'm just a bit concerned though since it's my first time using it for a game on Steam.
The same, hence my hesitation in using it.
Anyone gonna be like me and just wait for it to release? (9 hours left here).
I'm waking up at 5am just to play it earlier. Mind you I've never played an elder scrolls game before so I have no idea what to expect
Game crashes whenever I get out of Riverwood or whatever that town's called :v:
3 hours here erry day i'm british
I can't get Overv's VPN to work. :(
41 seems to be the maximum amount of connections, you'll have to wait, sorry.
Thanks to Overv! Donated a little, hope he gets the $20 back in total.
Anyone gonna be like me and just wait for it to release? (9 hours left here).
8 hours for me, can't wait for this. Gotta find something to pass the time though.
Playing skyrim via the VPN won't mess with saves will it? Wouldn't want to start again when it's officially released.
Playing skyrim via the VPN won't mess with saves will it? Wouldn't want to start again when it's officially released.
To be on the safe side, you can back up the Skyrim folder in Documents/My Games when you stop using the VPN. [t]http://puu.sh/8rNv[/t]
Anyone gonna be like me and just wait for it to release? (9 hours left here).
I'm probably going to have to wait until next monday to play, my order was only dispatched a few hours ago.
Playing skyrim via the VPN won't mess with saves will it? Wouldn't want to start again when it's officially released.
The saves are stored locally, steam only replaces missing ones (Or old ones) with steam cloud. You have nothing to worry about.
Fantastic thanks.
off to work for 8 hours, when I return, I will finally be holding my copy of Skyrim
Just been watching the IGN commentary gameplay on the 360 - and it looks great :) Because you know, I can't play for another 20 hours.
So its good, right? Worth getting?
For anyone playing, or just big expert on TES uni, why is it I can't sell stolen goods? Even to different trader? That's a bit of a letdown.
