I'm about 8 hours in with my Dark Elf battlemage. Skyrim is amazing so far! My only complaint is the interface but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

The crafting system is awesome. I've tried mining, woodcutting, and crafting and it all comes together real nicely. I'm loving the perk system so far too. It beats the old system for sure. Leveling up is actually fun now.

Also, it's actually difficult. At level 5 I have to use absolutely everything at my disposal to defeat just bandits.

Graphics matter more than gameplay to you? If you liked Oblivion or any previous Elder Scroll games (Or even just open world RPGS) you should get it. You could also try looking at reviews.

OK people, to play on full screen go to documents/mygames/skyrim
edit skyrimprefs.ini with notepad and change
bFull Screen=1
iSize W=1920
iSize H=1080

Numbers vary for different resolutions, just type the max resolution of your monitor, the numbers above are for 1080p res.
I hope this will be only temporary solution since we cant change anything else either, this will do for those who are not patient :

You're missing the point here. Nobody saying that the game is shit because of graphics, but seeing as it's a new engine and a new major game, people were expecting textures to be a bit better than we have.

I hope they will release Ultra textures some time later, along with GECK. That'd be nice.

Played skyrim for a bit and damn it's a terrible port. I bet they didn't bother with it because "durr mods will fix it so we don't have to work".
The UI is pc unfriendly, the fps drops for no reason even on good systems.
Why couldn't they at least add proper mouse support for UI like in oblivion.

there's people running it on low/medium and going "wow this is shit" without even knowing what Ultra looks like. Then acting as if its a big deal low settings are bad.
