god damn this update download started 45 minutes ago and it's only at 50%
and is it just me or are there very few unique weapons earlier on? im lvl 9 and the strangest thing i got was a standard item enchanted (or rather several) but thats as unique as it gets, while in the demo they had jade greatswords and helmets made from angels tears wtf
So I'm supposed to hang with my girlfriend tomorrow, but I wanna play skyrim. Help me choose. Heart for Girlfriend or Informative for game.

I chose "preorder shipping". That was an option there, and it was free/low cost shipping, too. The problem is, it just says "Ready to Ship", or something like that. It's not actually traveling anywhere.
I'm not sure if it can just start to be shipped from a warehouse in Chicago or something tomorrow morning, then get here by 4:00 PM (mail time for me).
Looking up and down is really slow for me...

Well you level up way faster than in oblivion so I think you will find those things later on.

You can alt tab, but when you alt tab back to it, alt tab back to it twice. Ie alt tab to skyrim, stop, then alt tab to skyrim again and then it works. Thats what I've been doing

I can alt+tab out of the game, but if it I click on it in the taskbar it doesnt loadup unless I alt+tab back into it..
Guys I found a fix that worked for me on reddit:
"FIXED: How do I fix the crash to desktop? Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sound In the Playback tab, right click on Speakers (or whatever has a green tick next to it), then click Properties In the advanced tab on this new window, select 24 bit, 44100Hz (Studio Quality) in the drop down menu (grabbed from a post on skyrim front page)"

Maybe try the nz snap! server, I got 1.4mb/s on that and on all the others i was getting 60kb/s

You can get back into the game as long as you alt tab into it twice in a row. At least for me.

Just started the game and so far, game seems great.
For those of you crashing when you get to the main menu, setting your speaker sample rate to 48000hz in the hardware and audio section in the control panel fixed it for a friend of mine.

I'm that friend. It crashed on the second screen and for the last hour i've been killing myself over it. He changed the sound and it's gg on any setting.
Anyone else's Steam doing all sorts of weird things after starting/closing Skyrim? Once it showed me around 10 notifications about not being able to verify the integrity of some game's files while in-game.
