Smithing skill.
TIP:
You can bind anything in your favorites menu to a number key. While the favorites menu is open, hover over a selection and hit the number key you want to bind it to.
I'm already thinking of restarting so I can try another race and properly do quests and find items/craft good weapons and armor or make potions. I'm lvl 13 and a bit into the main quest still using steel armor. Dragons are kicking my butt cause I can't get enough health potions.
Are weapons and armor supposed to degrade over time? If it's the red bar in the inventory, it never shows any signs of change. I've been using the same sword for hours now and the red bar it shows never decreases.
How do you repair them once they're degraded? Can you pay someone to do it? Or does "improve" mean repair on the smithing tools where you hammer armor and sharpen weapons?
Is there any way you can change your facial hair in-game? I'm in the Dark Brotherhood, but my beard-y Nord character looks a little ridiculous in the tight fitting shrouded armour :v:
Smithing is probably one of the best skills in the game, i suggest all of you level it, because soon enough, you'll be able to make armor like Daedric, Glass, Ebony armor/weapons.
Very curious on the significance about this

I get annoyed whenever dragons circle overhead but never attack
Bitch ass dragons, 'fraid of fighting me

I've been saving all of my Dragon Bone/Scales in hopes of crafting a cool endgame armor later on
Am I wasting my time or should I keep saving?
Can someone link me to the patch that fixes the crashes? I can't fidn it and yesterday I could play perfectly but today Skyrim keeps crashing for no reason at all at random times.
And I don't alt-tab at all.
Anyone else getting the glitch where [SP] you are going to spy on Ciciro at the Dark Brotherhood, you climb into the coffin with the night mother, you hear him come in humming and then nothing else happens at all? [/SP] I tried playing the quest twice from an auto save and both times it did the same glitch so I am wondering if its a fault with the game?

Save them until you can't carry anymore. Go find a place to store them.
A good way to level smithing is have lods of emone and talk to the companions smith and have him train you, its enough to level you up early on so you can easily boost yourself to 50 without much trouble.
Are dragons still around after finishing the main quest? Wanted to do main quest first, but don't wanna have no dragons later on..

They removed degradation because it was too annoying and replaced it with the ability to improve your items
So just started playing. Pretty fucking wonderful.
Magic is awesome now... none of that pansy fireball stuff from Oblivion. Dual-casting is awesome, and environmental effects like lighting oil on fire are really remarkable.
Only complaints thus far are the awful, awful UI (somehow, even worse than unmodded Oblivion/FO3/NV, I think) and the FOV. The latter is really easy to fix, and I imagine we'll be seeing UI mods soon enough. But seriously. The UI is, like, the worst. How does that even happen?

which is brilliant

So at level 50 I'm able to make the dragon items?
UI is probably good on consoles but god damn is it buggy on PC man.
Many of you may have fought a dragon and were good at it. Hell, I'm sure some of you can take a dragon down without effort. But I dare ask all of you a question:
Have any of you, any of you fearless, undefeatable, rough-as-nails dragon slayers ever fought...
DOUBLE DRAGON

Yes. The very first dragon-killing mission for me was glitched, so it gave me two fucking dragons. This was at level three.
So at level 50 I'm able to make the dragon items?
Your able to when you get your black smith to 100.

Yeah, I imagine it's quite comfortable on consoles. It really feels designed for a gamepad and two analog sticks. God, is it ever frustrating to navigate on a PC, though.

Isn't that an Oblivion sign?
Christ, the sweet rolls are more like bundt cakes.
Isn't that an Oblivion sign?
Yeah. Also the insignia of Conjuration, since that focuses on conjuring things from Oblivion.

Yes. Anyone who wants to change their characters appearance on the fly, open the console and type 'showracemenu'.
I ended up spending about 4-5k gold to get to level 100. I just constantly made iron daggers because everything gives you the same xp and they're probably the cheapest to make. Just did rounds between towns buying iron ingots and ore and just make iron daggers and sell them. Probably took around 500-600 iron to get to 100.
Just to clarify on this, my statistics say I've smithed about 512 items.
Oh, does anyone know how to hotkey items? The instruction manual lists 1-8 as being hotkeys, but I can't figure out how to bind items to keys.

Umm. Am I missing something here? :v:
Isn't that an Oblivion sign?
Yes. A gate to oblivion.
Got me thinking what if it opens an oblivion gate? There is a lot of talk in the loading screens about daedric princes and such.
Oh god, the quest in Markarth [sp]with the haunted house[/sp]
ok another here asking for a good config setup that isn't a default game variant, my specs are.
