they're pretty common at merchants, you can buy them for like >2000 coin.
I find it funny that petty soul gems are more common than "common" soul gems

I found some in a shop somewhere, I think it was in the Pawned Prawn, and I found one in the dungeon for the Ivy Claw.

Well hitting with the shield counts as blocking so it levels blocking. As does punching with your bow.

I spent fucking hours on trying to open the door to the Dragonstone thing. I kept looking on the walls saying "What the fuck!? It's butterfly, bird, bird!" Then after a very long time i ask my friend what it is and he replies "Look at the claw, dumbass."
That really did make me feel like a dumbass.
