After the mortar nerf I've never been counter mortar'd, I can scoot and shoot and kill anyone trying to counter me. It is hilarious.
I want to start working on recon unlocks, but I feel so useless when I play recon. I usually use a PDW and drop a spawn beacon near the objective, but then I get annoyed that I cant heal anyone or revive so I switch back to assault.
How do get class service stars?

Its pretty much most universal weapon in a game. Awesome at medium, good at close and long range, but it doesnt feel OP to me when i use it, like F2000. Every noob these days is running around with it (F2K) using silencer+irnv/red dot. Even after nerf of irnv, lol. My stats reflect my favourite weapons for each class: M16, M27, M98 and AS VAL out of all class.

The F2000 isn't OP anymore they nerfed it pretty heavily, its the worst assault gun for medium to long range.
The shotgun of assault rifles basically.
Also recon is great for supporting your team on Caspidean (sp?) border when you attack. So you can earn some there...
Or play like dillydallydanielly. Run around, snipe, cap, pistol, snipe, cap, pistol.
Recon like a boss.
I really dislike the spawn beacon nerf though.

I have used it post patch and it still is ridiculously good. New recoil made it more balanced, but high DPS still makes up for that. And horizontal recoil isnt as retarded as with AEK.
Interesting, I just went onto some German server.. nobody joins squads at all. I was the only person out of 32 people in a squad. The non-english part of BF3 sucks.

the A3 is preferred if you're fighting in close combat alot
or if you're like me, and prefer mid-long range engagements, pick the A4
you can snipe with it aswell, got a 500+ meter headshot once
I really like the weapon balancing in this game, they properly nailed it. you can do really good with the starting weapons

Same thing with the AK-74u. I never used it until yesterday because I had the SG553 when I started playing Engineer. It has very manageable recoil and it's iron sight's aren't completely shit.
The SG553 is my new favorite gun.
In all my 55 hours of gametime, I've never actually tried to play Support or Recon.

They really need to include scoreboard of current in-game scores to battlelog so I can see if I can join before the game ends or not.
