Seeing as there was a remarkable change from any sniper to M95 in BC2, it wouldn't surprise me if there's some variations in bullet drop in bf3.
Just haven't really played sniper at all so far.

The m98 has less bullet drop than all other snipers, not sure about the L96

size and weight don't change how quickly something falls for the most part, just minorly with wind resistance.

I think he's talking about the velocity of the bullet. As in some travels faster than others. Which gives the impression of lesser bullet drop on some.
