I like white pass.
Mainly because of snow. A snow map in bf3 would be cool.
I meant I didn't understand how I got so many suppression assists, I wasn't even trying, which I suppose is a bad thing as it means my aim sucks.
Suppression assists as other classes count too.
Holy fuck I just got the PP-19, it's AMAZING. A 55 goddamn round magazine means that you barely need to worry about aiming, just start unloading at the enemy as soon as you see one and you'll still have like half a magazine left.
I'm so glad my old BF2 gun turned out to be good. (L85) It is like reuniting with an old friend. :v:
Why didn't I get this on my birthday when it came out. OH WHY.
I'll just get it for christmas or something.

That's cool, maybe hinting at a 2143 in the future or they will never make it.

Here's hoping it won't be on consoles only with just 3 maps and 3 classes...
Wake island has taught me several things.
Javelins suck.
Stingers suck.
SOFLAMs suck.
Helicopters are fucking bullshit.
Jeah, played a bit of Wake Island and I can't say I like the map.
It's main purpose seems to inflate helicopter crew's dicks to impossible sizes, so they can waddle off to Youtube, dragging their epeens after them, bragging about how good they are at owning everyone else after they managed to whine away virtually every counter in existence.
Helicopters just piss me off so much. You see these people going forty to one, and then still whining on the forums about that one death and how SOFLAM/Stingers/Javelins/whatever is so overpowered and needs a whack with the nerfsledgehammer.
Yeah, its hard adjusting to the fact that helicopters aren't useless target practice anymore and are actually balanced in context with the rest of the game.
I went 64-4 with my mate with Viper Attack Heli on Wake Island.. pretty awesome.
Flares + EMR jammer can keep you air borne for a long time.
Also words cannot describe the awesomeness when you are Russian and you steal the US attack heli from the TV Station :v:
Helicopters ARE bad on Wake. Jets with rocket pods as well. There's zero cover or buildings.

Lol.
I get my mate to pilot and I go gunner and we easily go 5 kills before we die on a bad day.
On a good day we rack up about 30 or 40 each and don't die once.
Helicopters are OP as fuck, and they have one counter (unless you count getting extremely lucky with a tankround/rpg) and the AA is usually stolen by some autistic fuckhead who uses it to kill infantry for 30 minutes.
I guess your idea of balance is a player who pressed E about 30 minutes ago deserves to kill anyone and anything on the entire map.

Wish more games would end like this, it's always exciting trying to kill more people than the enemy when the game is just about to end
Helicopters ARE bad on Wake. Jets with rocket pods as well. There's zero cover or buildings.
They were bad in BF2 and 2142 Wake as well for the same reason. The problem is the maps, not the helicopter itself.
Lol.

Mobile AA, base AA, Stingers, Javelin + SOFLAM, concentrated 50 cal fire.
And yeah it's an attack helicopter it should fucking ruin people's day.
[editline]16th December 2011[/editline]
Also "extremely lucky" with a tank round? I've seen helicopters taken out by tank rounds plenty of times, it helps that they are pretty slow at manuvering.
Seriously, you kids would be ruined in BF2 by helicopters. Their rockets actually did damage, their guns were as powerful as they are now, and they could actually take corners without slowing to a crawl.

AA - Avoid it/Flank it and kill it.
Base AA - Don't camp spawns
Stingers - Get flares
Javelins - I've never seen a javelin hit it's target and I have about 30 hours of recon and engineer combined
50Cal - you should easily out DPS anything with a 50cal before it kills you.
TBH it's people lik eyou who are the reason helicopters are OP. If you can't have your round where you don't get 60 kills and 0 deaths it's obviously because everythings too OP.
Would be awesome if they came out with an FFA mode
I like the other modes but something about all against all just sets me ticking

You can avoid, flank, and kill anyone that is driving a vehicle if they are retarded or caught out of position. A well placed mobile AA is impervious to almost everything and absolutely shreds helicopters.
Base AA on plenty of maps stretches across the map itself, especially prevalent on Kharg Island and Caspian where flying anywhere near that half of the map can be dangerous
Yes, get flares and dump them for the first rocket then take for the second. A gunner and pilot both using flares works against a single engineer but against a group of them it's no use whatsoever. ECM is usually better
Javelins are buggy but they still work and will work if DICE ever gets around to fixing them. This is the only counter that I'd consider unreliable.
Concentrated 50 cal fire I said. As in, multiple 50 cals watching the sky. As in, two shooting one helicopter absolutely tears a helicopter apart.
Helicopters don't have to be OP, they have to be balanced, which they are. They are fragile, the pilot rockets still suck, TVGMs and guided missiles are still mediocre, and they handle in corners like a wounded animal.
That said the gunning position is incredible and when a good pilot is behind the stick (who knows when to fall back and how to keep the gunner aimed at the bad guys) they absolutely dominate, so I don't see the problem there.

Been playing with this boy for a while, he's so great, has almost no recoil. (better than M60E4 in my opinion)

Just like BF2, brings back memories.
I haven't flown a heli on wake yet but I have died to them heaps.
Weird that it never bothered me.
The PP-19 is literally the best gun in the entire game for me now.

I think DICE buffed the javelin slightly or something? I seem to rather it over an rpg or smaw sometimes when it comes to destroying tanks.
The thing also DESTROYS jeeps, the driver doesn't know they are being locked onto until the missile hit's killing them instantly.
Ah, this game is just straight up fun. Now that we're a few patches in, almost all of my complaints are gone and I'm loving it.
Good job, DICE.
Can someone explain to me why stinger missiles sometime blow up 2-3m away from the chopper? Even if they don't have flares?
What kind of christian magic is this?
Just had 2 17k point rounds in a row.
I'm not a bad MBT driver, if I do say so myself.
Why does javelin missiles sometimes come totally unnoticed and oneshot my chopper?
obviously a laser designation is required for it like a SOFLAM, but we've used ECM jammer and still sometimes a ghost javelin comes and kills us :v:
also when close enough to a igla/stinger, even when I try to use flares at the exact time when they launch the missiles, they hit. but not if shot from afar.

I see this a lot..
Usually it's like this:
Beep, beep beep, BEEEEEEEEEEEEP, BE-...
Oh, it's gone?
~5 seconds later: BOOM, dead.
Not sure if this is intentional or not.
When the teams are balanced then heli's are not so slaughtering, i've litterally sat on a hill with a t90 and shot down heli's and jets for the majority of a round with guided shells and javlins, the heli pilots could do jack shit to it and gave up eventually, i went 40 odd kills to 1 aiming for these stats padding fuck heads.
BUT and this is the thing, the teams are NEVER fair (ok maybe 1 in a hundred), the rounds end with one team pounding the living fuck out of the other 150 tickets to 10, it's these games where you'll find the heli gunner and pilots top of the leaderboards.
The heli can be taken down really easily when you have competant teams in which case i'd say the heli's don't need balancing, the players who use them and go 40 - 0 need to change fucking teams and even them up, but that will never happen, everyone loves a bit of stats and k/d padding.
Karkand is bullshit as russians, US has every single vehicle and me and my friend couldn't do shit, us two were the only ones left alive on the team (US had every flag so noone on our team could spawn) and managed to take down 19 guys before getting killed and losing the match.
If no one could spawn it means no one were in squads, which means your team was shit.

I've noticed that too, the past 20 Stinger/IGLA missiles I've launched, that haven't been blocked by flares, have all blown up away from the helicopter giving no hit marker and no vehicle destroy assist when they are eventually blown up.

Well if your squad is dead, what do you do then?
