So am I the only one in this thread who has no real problem with the hit detection? :v:
So am I the only one in this thread who has no real problem with the hit detection? :v:
I think it's more of a recon thing because usually you shoot enough bullets that you don't notice if one or two miss. I haven't noticed it anyway.
AA-12 on metro
Hey. It's almost Christmas.
I just got BF3 yesterday and I have a question, why doesn't the scoreboard display my ping?
I just got BF3 yesterday and I have a question, why doesn't the scoreboard display my ping?
Lot's of games do it, I don't know why can't be that hard to ping the server.
AA-12 on metro
You know, watching that movie, I knew it was really dumb but I absolutely loved it nonetheless.
Lot's of games do it, I don't know why can't be that hard to ping the server.
Because it's unnecessary and the whole point of live ping is so you can see your ping with extreme ease. You shouldn't have to go cmd and ping the server whenever you want to check your ping in 2011.
Woo I can finally record on ultra without any lag Problem is the 2gb+ files for 2 minutes of footage :< And the lack of editing software for cropping the useless parts Say what you want about black ops but the theater was amazing

What i don't understand with the Famas is why it doesn't have a white flag on top of the iron sights? A hurrr hurr :rolleye:
I think it's more of a recon thing because usually you shoot enough bullets that you don't notice if one or two miss. I haven't noticed it anyway.
I have no issue with hit detection as recon. It more boils down to them probably sprinting full speed around corners into an enemy and both of them shooting but only seeing your shots fired, but you dying. I never sprint in this game unless it is to cover large open areas, and it has made my life a whole lot easier. Also if you want to do well as a sniper, never use a bipod or a 12x scope in my opinion. They encourage camping and serve to limit your functionality. Use a laser and a 8x or 7x as they can cover the long shots and the closer, urban ones. The laser, unlike the flashlight can blind from a long distance and confuse the target. Also learn to love the iron sights of the semi auto snipers and their RDS as they can pretty much become assault rifles when paired with the foregrip. For the secondary I always use a tactical light pistol and you can whip that out if some person happens to stumble across your current sniping position. People complain how it takes too many shots to kill in this game, but I like it. It means that it is not about who is first to the trigger, but who is the quickest to think or the one who is truly more accurate. I have come into situations where I will be 20 or so feet away from an assault and he will open fire first but I will win with a bolt action 8x scope because he simply sprayed while moving while i dropped to prone and took my time to blow his head off. With this kind of system half the crazy bullshit we pull is possible. Sure, there are frustrating moments when you feel you should of been rewarded a kill and the bullshit was on you, but without that challenge the game would be boring. That anger at missing a knife and then getting shot in the face gives you the drive to get back into the game after dying JUST to fix that error. Now after saying that I must tell you I fucking hate support. It feels to me to be one giant spamming asshole class, you have a giant ass gun that holds and fires a shit ton of bullets, you have a mortar that spams unlimited mortars, you have c4 that you can spam forever, you also have claymores you can spam. With his ammo box he pretty much makes himself an endless douche of bullets and explosives and encourages other people to spam. Then again every class has it's own kind of asshole, but their asshole spamming stuff generally is more of a side weapon or something not all of them use. The support in itself is spam by nature though. I can't even get down metro or grand bazaar because there will be like 10 different supports lining the sides of the halls facing every god damn direction.
What i don't understand with the Famas is why it doesn't have a white flag on top of the iron sights? A hurrr hurr :rolleye:
it does you just can't see it because the rear post is so fucking huge.
The 100 member cap for platoons makes them useless. If hardly more than 8% (probably less) of people who own the game are playing at any time, having big clan matches is impossible.
GNHHHHH Using the SOFLAM, paint tanks and choppers with it, wait a whole minute on each target and nobody shoots. Then I use something else and someone says "I NEED SOFLAM TARGETS" WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU DOING THIS WHOLE TIME? Same shit when I use Javelins, nobody ever uses SOFLAMs.
A couple of games ago, I happened to be with some supports, me with a javelin. There was a recon soflamming 24/7. There were no survivors, seriously it's so dangerous.
For attack heli enthusiasts, what combo do you use for gunner/pilot perks? What is the best? we go with; guided rockets, ECM, heatseekers (pilot) stealth, flares, guided missile (gunner) it works okay, but sometimes pilot switches from Ecm to Flares and I switch to Thermal instead of Flares. Never double flares. And sometimes laser painted instead of guided rockets so I can shoot guided missiles to enemy helis/w/e
Never double flares.
I don't know, properly VOIP co-ordinated double flares makes you literally completely immune from IR missiles that aren't SOFLAM (but if you're getting SOFLAM'd you're practically fucked anyway, even the ECM can't do much against a javelin)
I don't know, properly VOIP co-ordinated double flares makes you literally completely immune from IR missiles that aren't SOFLAM (but if you're getting SOFLAM'd you're practically fucked anyway, even the ECM can't do much against a javelin)
ECM should be used before you get locked though? Not sure since I don't have it, but that's what a pilot acquaintance of mine does.
ECM should be used before you get locked though? Not sure since I don't have it, but that's what a pilot acquaintance of mine does.
Nah. Before fire, after lock.
Nah. Before fire, after lock.
So same as flares eh? Idunno, he used them like a split second before I felt the lock would come on. Wait no not same as flares sorry sorry. My brain farted.
so i just bought bf3 and managed to play for about 20 mins before getting disconnected from the server. now when i try to join a server it keeps giving me an error saying "Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out." how to fix??
Had the weirdest, yet most immersive feeling in BF3 yesterday. Playing on Conquest Large, 32 player Sharqi, me and my friend were on the winning team by about 60 tickets, but it still felt like we were losing. Everytime we looking at the points, millions of little skulls everywhere. Always ran into ragtag teams of soliders and tried to help them take the point, then forced to scatter when two tanks showed up, into the blown-up streets. The constant sound of a MAv trying to find out where you are while you're hiding behind one half-torn wall while a tank passes by, because you ran out of rockets a long time ago, and you can't find the body of a Support guy anywhere. I mean, we still won, but holy shit. It was like Act 1 of Metal Gear Solid 4 meets Red Orchestra.

Ping in BF3 is local. You ping the players and they send it back. It is not the ping from the server.
Sapphire is giving out BF:BC2 Digital Deluxe for the Select Club users. If you don't have it or want an extra copy go to Sapphire Select Club and redeem the game
so i still can't play without crashing... its really getting tiring
I don't know, properly VOIP co-ordinated double flares makes you literally completely immune from IR missiles that aren't SOFLAM (but if you're getting SOFLAM'd you're practically fucked anyway, even the ECM can't do much against a javelin)
With ECM you can blow up incoming javelins in midair afaik.
Ping in BF3 is local. You ping the players and they send it back. It is not the ping from the server.
Is that good or bad?
Is that good or bad?
Bad. You don't really get any real information, just how far away other people are. The server might be on another continent and you can still get neat numbers there.
I never thought ram would be a bottleneck.... ever And hell yes ram has gone down so much since I built my computer.
