That reminds me, didn't someone from DICE say that stabbing someone from the front would create a quick time event where the the two players would struggle to stay alive and kill the other? Or was that just a suggestion someone made during the alpha?
Speaking of the knifem don't you have to pull it out to use it? Its not a stab-only animation right? You have to pull it out and keep it out to use it like in CS?

Now you can just instakill by hitting the knife button, and you slash by holding it out. :v:

And then I'll usually die right after.
As someone stated earlier it only plays the animation if they are below the damage threshold that would one-slash them anyway.
So it isn't an insta-kill and you can "fastknife" people like in BC2? Hmm... Offtopic, I'm digging the colors in this game. I gotta buy the limited edition when I get the chance. I can just wait until I get enough money to buy new PC parts and up the settings to high. Meanwhile, I'll play it on lowest definitions and maybe highest resolution.
I got quickplayed in to 24/7 metro. I threw down my TUAG, the second recon gadget thing, and ended up getting 20 surveillance pins while I went AFK. What the shuddering fuck are those servers
Perhaps I should already know this, but when you get stabbed and someone takes your tags, do you lose them?
I i thought knife animations only worked from behind?
My god, front-stabbing has migrated from TF2 to BF3
Got it for Christmas, game isn't nearly as difficult as I expected, but no cake walk either. SO much more fun if you're in a squad with voice.
My god, front-stabbing has migrated from TF2 to BF3
I remember one time in TF2 where I ran straight at the cart as a disguised spy and face stabbed 3 people in a row, with a friend spectating. We were in tears.
So I started using SOFLAM the other day, it's actually quite nice even when you aren't using it. Set it up around/over an objective, and you'll have a device that will auto-target things for you if you aren't using it (assuming someone's using javalins), while you go and cap other bases. Even if nobody is using a jav though, it's like an auto-tank spotter. If someone starts capping the point you set up your soflam to look over, you can quickly switch to it and spot where all the targets are with it and see what kinds of threats you got. Great for defense too, nothing like knowing where all the enemies are capping the point you are on, assumign you prepaired before hand by setting up a soflam up on a hill. MAV is nice but you have to dedicate yourself to it, and it cant be used for targeting. The soflam you can place and forget though. It also seems to have a lot of armor to it for some reason - I see people try and shoot it all the time but the health barely goes down.
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/12565310/1/369121862/ THIS. This is why I love the Saiga 12k. 60 kills with that monster. First time getting MVP too hah
Now do that on a non-clusterfuck map
True. True. But still, holy shit I never do that well
haha someone tried to knife me (I head the sound). And then I facestabbed him. [editline]25th December 2011[/editline] also where the fuck did the fpeu server go?
Had a blast before, a recon guy was actually using SOFLAM, and had a support next to him with ammo crates. and me with a javelin. on the mountain side of firestorm. Enemy had no tanks or flying :D
also where the fuck did the fpeu server go?
AFAIK it's dead now. Hatti didn't pay for the next month since it was barely used anymore.
Oh I can hear the disappointment in my friends' voices when they discover that I don't have B2K :(
I got quickplayed in to 24/7 metro. I threw down my TUAG, the second recon gadget thing, and ended up getting 20 surveillance pins while I went AFK. What the shuddering fuck are those servers
Metro is a grade A clusterfuck on 64 man conquest. I got at least 50 revives in one 30 minute match on metro 64. Its great for LMGs and revives, which is why people play it.
Its great for LMGs and revives, which is why people play it.
You forgot RPGs and grenade launchers.
Goddamn, dogfighting and jets in general would be so much cooler if they were more realistic. Why can't we do things like Pugachev's Cobra or glide similar to how actual planes do. There's no inertia in BF3, just awkward diagonal flights for no reason.
Decided to try and se how many repair tool kills i could get in one round, made it to 6 :D so much more satisfying than using a knife
Oh boy, I bought this game. I am so ready to shoot people and get shot at from far away.
god fucking randoms stop being so retarded this is amazing, a guy joined, stood in spawn, got kicked, joined, stood in spawn, got kicked, rejoined and then we won. and nobody seems to know how to join a squad, you retarded piece of shit.
Oh jesus christ. I got my first service star for the 870MCS today, I use RDS, frag rounds and extended mags. I'm about to unlock a rifle scope for it and I think I will use it, cuz I just snipe people across the map with it :V Got in on a hardcore 64 player 1000 ticket Operation Métro Conquest server, we were in a locked-down stalemate at B so I crawled in all stealthy-like and backdoored like 10 people. I got 3 Combat Efficiency Ribbons, leveled up my Assault and got a Service Star. Virtually nobody saw me cuz they were busy shooting at all the other guys. I was kind of in the middle of the fray, a snake in the grass. Hardcore + 870MCS = have my children
I have no origin friends. It is sad day for a lonely stalker.
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/12584973/1/376044386/ T'was a good round. Amongst all the SHITTY heli pilots, I found a decent guy that didn't play too agressive. Also, the amount of shitty heli pilots in this game is HUGE. They literally just RUSH straight towards the enemy base and die instantly because of AA and base AA. God damn it, I feel like ripping my damn eyes out when that happens. IT IS POSSIBLE TO PLAY DEFENSIVELY WITH THE DAMN HELI
Silly me.
