X-2, simplest by far, works alright but loses control if you use the A and D keys too much.

X-3A (A referring to the boosters, didn't really feel like posting it sans them since they're pretty critical), goes fucking fast and far. So far it's had the longest distance and navigates really well. Still a bitch to get it perfectly parallel with the ground but close enough.

X-4, looks cool, flies horribly. You get stable flight for about 6k meters past the landing pad before it spins wildly out of control.
What generally causes blacked out textures on the rocket?
My ship is too tall and too heavy to support itself :(
My rocket penis can't support itself and keeps flopping over :(

I wish there was a regular jet engine, that used fuel extremely slowly, but had low power compared to rocket engines, and didn't work outside the atmosphere.

Somehow I don't think those decouplers were strong enough to hold the engines stable.

Also the farthest i've gotten, although it would have gone on for longer, but I got bored just watching it fly.

Been experimenting with rockets where the command pod is hanging.
Really eases the separation process. If you hit the next stage before the prior one is out of fuel, the prior one just lifts up and away from the rocket. Only thing you need to be wary of is colliding with it if the next stage is more powerful. Also, you can't put chutes on the pod in that case, which sucks.

Stick a lander under the pod.
So I downloaded the parts collection somebody posted here. After seeing the 4-armed parachute extension part I immediately thought how cool it would be to have rockets hanging off it.
I learned a valuable life lesson in the form of the rocket falling to pieces on the launch pad after the engines weighted down on the arms, snapping the joints and collapsing the rocket before exploding violently and killing the crew.

This is now my phone's wallpaper. Brilliant.
Kerbal Space Program v2: Orbit Kearth five times, didn't pack a parachute.
I never pack a parachute.
I just put liquid engine underneath command module without decoupler.
More fun with landing, more weight to carry.
Oh yeah, I managed to snap this pic some days ago when I first tried KSP

I'm afraid you forgot one minor detail..

5-minute job, you get the idea.

Now you can't see the KSP logos on the shoulders, though.
just hit 30,000m. my best yet. ^_^
Edit: 100,000
I made a really low powered rocket that consumes fuel incredibly slowly to simulate a jet engine for making planes
Also through random copying and pasting pieces of parts files together, I made wings with built in liquid rocket engines.

You just have to connect them to the sides of a fuel tank.
I may try to make a model for them that adds a rocket to the wing so it makes more sense.

Something like the wings on this.

Finally managed to get into space. Decided to just fly straight out but I am constantly losing speed. Why is this?
because gravity
Eventually you'll reach far enough where you stop losing speed though.

Eventually you'll get to where the speed loss won't even be noticeable.
EDIT: Holy ninjas.
Could someone please upload the parts someone posted in a zip version? can't open it on mac.
No it's not out for mac, I'm using cross over games to play windows games on mac.

The Extra Parts Pack?
The latest version is already a .zip I believe.

Sure, let me see if I can get this done, if someone else does it faster tho thats fine.
2SECONDLATEREDIT: Uploading now.

Redownload it, it opens fine with the default archiver.
(As in, your download probably got corrupted and there's no use in us uploading it)

I'll just upload it for convenience then, meh.
This one will contain a bit more parts too.
