Just when you thought some of the rockets we've designed in this thread were the peak of horrible designs.

You haven't seen a bit of it yet.
I literally have an entire book dedicated to the worst aircraft designs ever. This is one of them:

Strap rockets onto that thing and you get most Rockets made in KSP nowadays.

I think I have the same book. Does it have the Convair Pogo on the cover?

I remember reading about that. It seems to me that the tank glider worked perfectly for what it was designed to do, it was just that the Soviets didn't have any aircraft powerful enough to drag the tank glider to the battlefield.
How do I mod the game, like if I've downloaded the zip/RAR file, what next?
How do I mod the game, like if I've downloaded the zip/RAR file, what next?
If you mean you've downloaded some extra parts, just unzip/rar, and put the folders in your parts directory.

My best so far, haven't been able to beat it yet.
[editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
went to have lunch and I was still going 4700 m/s at 7500km
So I left Gagarin X to keep on going overnight, and when I woke up, this is what I saw:

Apparently it went through a black hole or some shit, check the max G force recorded:

[editline]9:30[/editline]
Hold on, what happened to their names?
If you mean you've downloaded some extra parts, just unzip/rar, and put the folders in your parts directory.
Thanks.

You think thats crazy?

Look at that bad girl, a russian experimental aircraft tested 'round the 1930's, plan was to strap some guns meant for battleships on it and use it like a dive bomber. Didn't work. Wiki page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalinin_K-7
Plane crashes due to error constructing so inventor of craft is executed as enemy of state. Go human race.

That model is twice the size of the actual plane though.
And the battleship guns were a hoax.

We live in different countries so the covers may be different, but mine does have a Pogo in it. My cover has the Rotabuggy or whatever it is on the front.
Btw, here's some music to play while having a particularly majestic flight:

So i told my friend about KSP. He liked it and decided to build a rocket...

Jesus, that thing sounds like it's from a Micheal Bay movie!
And it flew like one too!

I've decided to let it run for whole 24hrs.

Finally managed to get into space. Decided to just fly straight out but I am constantly losing speed. Why is this?
Because Spaceship

I orbited for 7 hours and something (it says in the picture, i just forgot) before the game crashed.
[editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
8 actually, because i continued the orbit after this screenshot
My God... the Caproni Ca.60...
I loved reading about this plane as a child. It was like a flying house that could also sail on the water.

But then it crashed and sank into a lake.

[editline]22 July 2011[/editline]
I'd probably try to build something like this:

:v:
Sorry to say to most people posting records in these, they have all been broken or done before, or are just uninteresting at this point, because there is little else to do then go up or orbit, and people have already accomplished perfect orbits with near the exact same Apogee Perigee.
And once you go up to a certain point, the altitude scale gets fucked up the planet is gone and the entire game glitches out.
Liking the new loading screen.

You do realize that the scale doesn't reset anymore, right?

It does for me after 20 hours of going 12k m/s, the altitude meter says 4142 or something, and the camera is shaky, and the names are gone.
Looks like 13 hours to me...
That was in progress. Sadly it crashed after 15hrs.
It does for me after 20 hours of going 12k m/s, the altitude meter says 4142 or something, and the camera is shaky, and the names are gone.
It should go from meters to kilometers to megameters and so on...
Bug Fixes:
* Fixed the staging lock LED not turning purple after launch
* Icons no longer show a transparent border floating around then mousing over disconnected parts.
* Fixed a bug where deleting a symmetrical part would sometimes leave it's counterparts floating around.
* Fixed a bug where creating a new stage with a decoupler and then removing it would generate errors.
* Fixed most sound volume decay over distance problems.
* Fixed a bug that caused a massive performance drop when fuel tanks emptied (fuel tank switch lag bug)
* The Flight camera will now remain always centered on the ship's center of mass.
* The Screenshot function will now create a Screenshots directory if one isn't found.
* The altimeter will now go past 999,999K correctly (it will move up to 1000M, then 1000G, 1000T and so on)
* Fixed a bug that could cause large ships to explode at 5,000m altitude.

It should go from meters to kilometers to megameters and so on...
Oh. I thought it glitched up and returned to meters, turns out I was at 4142 MegaMeters.
[editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
I managed to make an orbit that at its lowest point is 40k meters up and is directly above the landing site, while the highest is on the dark side of the planet at 315k meters.
