The modders are lacking in making fuel guzzling HIGH thrust 3m engines, without them this thing would be impossible. It can make orbit up to 100km, but I rather get 50-60km to make landing near the pad easier. The bottom stage only accelerates the rocket to 16km max to a speed of nearly 400m/s and the rest can take it to orbit. someone needs to make a decent looking F1-model
There's nothing like not knowing whether you've done your circularization maneuvers properly or not...
nothing like watching your SRBs slowly shake your rocket apart and there's nothing you can do about it :(
rocket races to certain altitudes/speeds/destinations would be awesome.
The problem with that is it requires no improvisation, since you can just memorize the best design. This would just turn it into a contest of who can memorize the best design.

America won the space race doing it, no-one said the Kerbals couldn't.

Surely this game lends itself to more of a FlightSimulator X style of Multiplayer. With lots of players flying their own missions around the Kerbal System and maybe a few players communicating from the control centres on the ground of Kearth.
Space race to a different planet or moon would be interesting as a sort of multiplayer thing. [editline]27th July 2011[/editline] (You have to land and go back and be alive)
Maybe a team mode where each team competes to build the largest space station by flying parts up into orbit and maneuvering them into place. Then again your bound to get the teams sending rockets at the other teams space station.
personally, I'd aim for the other team's rockets
personally, I'd aim for the other team's rockets
I'd build the largest rocket possible, and try to land on their launchpad to block them from launching anything.
I'd build the largest rocket possible, and try to land on their launchpad to block them from launching anything.
Maybe if the space station was big enough they could have a launch pad and construction site up there.
ridiculous amounts of tanks androckets etc
but that's the fun part

Your rocket is based off the Saturn V right? They are very alike.
It exploded as soon as it got off the pad.
but that's the fun part
You know, big rockets made of stock parts don't work. EDIT: Wow, ninja'd by perfect example.
It exploded as soon as it got off the pad.
Somehow I'm not surprised.
Jebadiah, baller as always
The rocket at :40 is awesome.
Dear media, the administrastion of the Kerbal Space Program is glad to provide information about the efficient recycling of expensive space craft components which we assure by the use of heavy duty parachutes of the highest quality. Only the most expendable and cheapest to replace parts of the space rocket are in no need of any security method for a safe impact on the planet's surface whatsoever. In fact, we added an extra fuel tank to please the viewers with an even shinier explosion.
What exactly does the pink sign on the map mean?
What exactly does the pink sign on the map mean?
It is where the launchpad is.
Better design yielded great results. about 70,000x better. Edit: And I managed to land the rocket.
It is where the launchpad is.
Oh... I thought that was the green.... in that case, what is the green?
Oh... I thought that was the green.... in that case, what is the green?
The direction you are really going. (inertia)
