0.9 Experimental is so unstable. [editline]7th August 2011[/editline] And no sorry, I can't make a 1680x1050 version because I can't run my game in a big enough resolution to fit it into a 1680x1050 image.
maybe could you stretch it out a bit (and maybe save in PNG, but I don't know jack shit so maybe it won't affect anything at all)
I can't upsize it without making it blurry as shit.
I can't upsize it without making it blurry as shit.
okay :(, we need a screenshot function like some games have, like minecraft.
I have been at the same speed for an hour and a half. I ran out of fuel at the 30 minute mark. I have stayed at constant velocity for a while, suggesting no resistance, simply put perpetual motion. I don't want to argue though. I can say that I wonder what is going to happen at 999999.
No, you're a fucking idiot, perpetual motion is when you're putting in as much effort or less than you generate with a system. I.E a perpetual engine uses a system of weights to continue movement that generates enough energy to continue the circuit of motion and generate excess energy.
okay :(, we need a screenshot function like some games have, like minecraft.
F1, but it saves it at the same resolution as you're playing, and I can't run it high enough to get a usable 1680x1050 image. If only I had Photoshop CSI edition :(
Does 0.9 in include writing "Liftoff!" at the start of the event log? [editline]two hours and five seconds ago[/editline]
0.9 Experimental is so unstable.
That's why I never download experimental versions of games, they are usually really buggy.
spot the problem
0 throttle?
Overthrusting and zero throttle.
yep, evrything was tweaking out before launcing, G force was below the bar, and pitch, roll and yaw all went from left to right while I didn't do anything. Probably had to do with the game calculating stuff for so much parts and struts, I also had a lot of lag. [editline]7th August 2011[/editline] picture 3 and 4: they all laugh 5th: they all scream :v:

in total there are 64 engines on it 42 solids and 22 liquids. [editline]7th August 2011[/editline] fun fact: removing a solid booster from the bottom barely affects the rocket, you can still fly as before (just a bit slower)

Is there a repo for all those awesome addons you guys have?
I have no trouble getting my guys into orbit. Getting them back is a completely different story though. I think my orbit is really elliptical so it makes me go waaay out to 400,000 M and come back, at least I hope they come back. Used the rest of my ion thruster trying to get them back on the ground to no avail.
I use the liquid rocket to retro and when out of fuel, activate around 8-12 parachutes.
How does one use the orbital data in OP? Lets say I want to use 100 km, Vcirc = 2245.64 m/s, Vesc = 3175.81 m/s.
How does one use the orbital data in OP? Lets say I want to use 100 km, Vcirc = 2245.64 m/s, Vesc = 3175.81 m/s.
It means that if you are at 100 km going 3175.81 m/s, you have enough velocity to continue forever without getting pulled back. If you are going exactly 2245.64 m/s horizontally and 0 m/s vertically, you will maintain a perfect orbit forever. [editline]a[/editline] I'm pretty sure.

[editline]8th August 2011[/editline] Uhm. I'm in an orbit this calculator tells me has an orbital period of 580 hours.

All this time, because shitcomputer, I run the game in a windowed, low resolution so the writing on the yellow light was always blurred. Now I know it what says! Always ignored that light anyway. _/:v:\_
God, the loading times are astronomical.
After being at my Apokee, I used an orbital calculator I found on the KSP forums to figure out how fast I had to go to enter the atmosphere at approximately where it would let me land at the launch site. Then I separated from my rocket. At this point I am a little worried about where I'm going to land. OH Atmospheric re-entry fuck yeah! Slowing down. Ooh. Slightly overshot it! But not horribly much.
sunday's pack isn't working with 0.9 update.
sunday's pack isn't working with 0.9 update.
ships made out of vanilla parts from 0.8.5 don't work either, he changed something causing the old part to bug out. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] so I had to copy the biggest part of my 7900m/s rocket while having 0.8.5 open in a small window :v:
holy fuck i landed my ship intact. Thought that was impossible.
i cant reach 1000 meter altitude unless i want to explode
Ever tried the thing called Rockets? [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] They work pretty good.
Had been trying to make a saturn v, but after the adapter, I couldn't find any parts that will fit. So I can only use the unfitting big orange fuel tank. Anyone know if I can paint it or find some other part in white colour? Also, not mine, but as you can see, the orange ruins the saturn v. Same problem here. Uploading the modified part file now. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2668640/Kerbal/largefuelTank.7z here yeh go. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] Oops, realized that .zip is probably more of a standard than .7z http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2668640/Kerbal/largefuelTank.zip
