Is there a way to turn off shaders/whatever is causing all my textures to be blacked out on this shitty computer?
I didn't hit the atmosphere :( But I used the LES (Launch Escape System) to slow down even further. Only problem now is that I might land on the dark side.

Yeah it makes this somewhat unplayable for me.
Forget everything I ever told you about a very elliptical orbit with a high Apokee. This is a high Apokee. Don't be fooled by the MET timer, it reset at 24 hours.
you guys keep forgetting the fins on the saturn v rocket
you guys keep forgetting the fins on the saturn v rocket
I realized this after I uploaded my Saturn V texture mod. [editline]11th August 2011[/editline] I'll fix it and reupload okay chill. [editline]11th August 2011[/editline] Tomorrow.

Newest experimental build up for grabs:

New: Parachutes can no longer deploy in a vaccuum (they wait until there is some atmosphere to open) Added staging stack scrolling through the Home and End keys Added key mappings for Zoom In/Out, Scroll View Up/Down (VAB) and Scroll Icons Up/Down Added key mappings to rotate the camera Bug Fixes: Fixed the G meter spiking up towards infinity at large distances. Fixed some more details with the settings screen Changed the layout of the input mapping screen Fixed a problem with the sound loading system, that wouldn’t load custom sounds Download: http://www.kerbalspacerepository.com/2011/08/11/ksp-version-0-9-x5/
Err, I was on the chat when he did that. We were discussing chutes and atmospheric drag.

I've been playing this like crazy since I started. It's way more fun and addicting than I thought it would be. My most reliable rocket has been a replica of the Delta IV Heavy rocket. Using the orbital tables and tutorial found here I'm able to consistently achieve orbit using my trusty Delta IV Heavy. Most of my orbits are between 35-45k. 880k and still climbing, that is some wide-ass orbit I got there :eng101:
I made a small cruise missile:
I'm going to try this without watching ANY TUTORIALS. THIS WILL NOT WORK OUT WELL.
It's not an orbit unfortunately, you exceeded the escape velocity.
fuck me D:
I'm going to try this without watching ANY TUTORIALS. THIS WILL NOT WORK OUT WELL.
Oh, I think it'll work out just fine. Jeb's got your back.
Oh, I think it'll work out just fine. Jeb's got your back.
It worked until I jetted the boosters and realized I didn't have an engine or tank connected to the command module. Or a parachute. [editline]11th August 2011[/editline] That worked pretty well, actually. Gotta fix the way the boosters are attached, but otherwise it was okay. Do the SAS things only work on the engine they're attached to, or if I stick it right under the command module, will it try to stabilize it the whole time? [editline]11th August 2011[/editline] radial couplers can suck my dick why are they so terrible
Damnit my chute.
what how did i get here i'm not good with rocket also, how can I unlock more parts?
also, how can I unlock more parts?
Mods.
also, how can I unlock more parts?
Mods on the official forums or look through here for links leading to said parts.
they're gone for good

So I did something I haven't tried before which is called a Hohmann Transfer Orbit, looks like this: One burn at the lowest orbit to go out into an elliptic orbit with an apokee where your final orbit will be. At the top of your elliptic orbit you do another burn to stay at that altitude. I went from 40km to 512km.

That video tutorial for orbiting on the wiki uses this technique!
Hi! just wanted to let everyone know, we've officially released the 0.9 update. Mind that ships from earlier versions are most likely incompatible with the new one, but old mods should work, I think. Cheers
I'll be updating my Saturn V texture mod to work with 0.9 then!
I'm N10do64 from the KSP forums, HarvesteR, did joysticks manage to sneak their way in?
