What pack are those parts from?
I hope they don't pull a notch, and do fuck-all when they get some money.

Well fuck

I hope they pull a Notch and hire someone even more talented if they get too lazy to work on it.

Sunday Punch and Silisko Industries Doughnut Research (SIDR).
Sunday Punch released a new version today: http://www.multiupload.com/MZ96BWC5ZX
and the latest SIDR is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/575558/SIDR/SIDR_Parts_1.0.zip
I made some different textures for some of the orange ones, so if mine look abit different, it's just that.

Sacraficed the engine to land safe, but it was worth it.
Didn't even need to use the parachute, which subsequently got destroyed when I "landed".
That's truly amazing. The rocket alone is really impressive, but then you landed that huge thing somehow? Crazy.

It was more just experimentation and timing.
I corrected it now, but that version was spinning all the time because the struts were transferring some force sideways somewhat, so I had to constantly correct it.
I have rockets now that just make the game spack out and cry, but they work at least.
like this one:
I have pictures of that one going through all the stages and into space. Just directly up though, it was too laggy to do much else.
jesus fuck, massive snip, my bad.

Don't usual post in massively traffic'd threads, should probably grab a better host site than just using Gyazo for conveniance.
Any ideas?
Also, this has been bugging me ever since I started playing.
The Kermen must be tiny because the capsule is apparently built out of the wheel from a DeLorean.

I use Imgur, works for me.

Went for dropbox, they should be working now.

There you go chaps.
Definitely not the easiest way to get to a not so blistering 17000m/s, but pretty damn fun.
Gotta go grab some sleep lads, have a good one.

Reveal your secrets! Every time I exceed the height of the tower the bottom couplings fail under the weight of the rocket. I've tried making trusses up the side of the craft to spread the load, but things still break. I've been playing bridgeit non stop since I was 12, so building giant truss structures should be second nature to me.
How do you make the rocket so big anyway? It seems to me like it would just hit the roof of the construction building.

Good idea. It would lend some purpose to having satellites later in the game. They could also add altimeters and radar to find an ideal landing spot on other planets.

Erhm, according to your instruments you're dropping like a rock. I think you just ejected 4 very expensive artificial meteors.

Struts help alot. You can, if you get it just right, make struts between then fuel tank and engine connection which makes it alot stronger.
Before struts I had to make my own detaching Gantrys so the weight didn't snap the engine. It does help using the 3x bits on the bottom. The latest release of sunday punch's parts has increased strength.

if you grab the Pod you can drag it into the roof, and quite far up with the right zoom level and angle.
This allows you to build further and higher!

It was just that time in the orbit, about 1/2 a minute after I took that picture it leveled off and started heading up.
It wasn't a perfect orbit, but good enough.
Awesome, now I can build bigger.... and bett...worse.

This made me thought of something. You know those racing/flight sims with the movement path to aid people? Maybe we could have something like this. Or better! Use it to aid in future docking/lunar landing! What do you guys think?
[editline]15th August 2011[/editline]
Also, is it just me or the retro rockets from sunday's punch pack aren't working? Or has it not been implemented yet?
Is this an orbit?
Nope
What am I supposed to look for, then? I thought it was having the heading (yellow thing, right?) on the horizon at a high altitude :(
You have to be heading towards the horizon and also be less than escape velocity, otherwise you'll just fly off into space.
[editline]14th August 2011[/editline]
You can't be going upwards that much either, unless it's just an elliptical orbit.
What am I supposed to look for, then? I thought it was having the heading (yellow thing, right?) on the horizon at a high altitude :(
Yellow thing smack on the horizon and also your vertical speed as near towards 0 as possible, your heading is above the horizon and you have a shit load of vertical speed.
Told you, not an orbit.
so about that orbit

that happened in 10 minutes :|
Your best bet for an orbit is between 40000m - 80000m at around 2200m/s - 2600m/s , varied with height of the orbit.
Once you attain simular speeds and get vertical acceleration to roughly zero it should sort itself out.
There's a link in the OP, check it out.
Also, everybody, you can force AA on the game through catalyst control center or the Nvidia counter part, looks much nicer.
Also guys, I just wanted to say for those who doesn't seem to understand it, you don't have to go completely vertically to have an orbit. If you have enough speed (above orbit speed, but below escape velocity), you will go off into an elliptic orbit which will be mostly going upwards and downwards, not forwards.
