I only used two engines to get into space, the futuristic nuke thruster one to get it to 80km, and then the ion thruster to get to 10,000km. Now it's literally stuck at 12057.4m/s
Mods? Being rated dumb by people with 56k for having to load thumb'd images.
That why? I thought they rated you dumb because there's links to mods in the OP.
That why? I thought they rated you dumb because there's links to mods in the OP.
Obviously he's using SIDR and Sunday Punch, but he's using some mods which I don't recognize, so I ask politely. If that's why they're rating me dumb, then I just don't know what to say. Also the mods list in the OP is horribly organized and should be redone.
-snip solved-
Wootmonster, just have Wobbly rockets and NovaSilsko's stuff, plus the reset pack, which is out of date.
Updated the original parts pack. Is there any more mods that needs to be added to the OP?
Been playing with this game for a little over a week right now, and I managed to orbit for the first time today. I love simple designs. I also love mods, because they help me simplify them even further. Personally, I love building huge, multi-staged monstrosities. They're much more fun to fly.

I'd do more of that if they include launch/flight computers however, this would then become my favourite game in existence. Think of automating stages (and/or components) based on events. (Like another stage firing, reaching a specific altitude, velocity, heading, etc) A S.A.S. would even be redundant if they add spin/angled thrusters. I think all of that is bound to be added in the future though.
Getting into orbit is actually quite easy. Go over 50km, go level, go somewhere between 2330.5m/s and ~3000m/s. At 50km/s the orbital speed for a ciruclar orbit is 2330.5m/s, but if you go faster and below escape velocity you will still stay in orbit, it will just be more elliptical.

I think it's those and how you managed to get radial fuels without a radial-normal decoupler.
I think it's those and how you managed to get radial fuels without a radial-normal decoupler.
Latest SIDR has a radial decoupler that lets you stack stuff under and above it.
Latest SIDR has a radial decoupler that lets you stack stuff under and above it.
He's not using that. Or at least it doesn't look like it.
It might not look much like it, but this is actually an orbit:
I wish there were innocent people on the ground to smash my rocket into.
He's not using that. Or at least it doesn't look like it.
It was either that, or some bastardised quad splitter with a Sunday Punch's one to one spacer. Oh wow, I actually managed to land it back down from orbit. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] Damn it, I wish the world was persistent; that way you could bump into a junk stage from an earlier rocket while trying to orbit with a new one.
Media bump Shit happens when you're eating a sandwich.
http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=1823.0 What do you guys think?
I suggested almost exactly that earlier in the thread:
I'd really like it if we could have custom stages that are bound to keys, and these custom stages can activate objects that are already assigned to sequenced stages. During an emergency I'd be great to have the ability to jettison the command module without mashing space. You could even blow 5-6 parachutes at the same time. Also, parachutes should be attachable to any surface, like wings. And cameras. Cameras would be cool. A tiny weightless module you attach to the surface of a craft like a wing, specify a rotation, and cycle through their views with C. Would certainly make piloting aerospace craft alot easier.

I've thought about this. It'll probably be a feature somewhere in the future. The staging mechanic is quite limited as of now... you can only move to the next stage by pressing space. My plan is to tie the F keys to stages, so you can go F1, F2, F3 and so on... or just activate some random stage. There will also be an Abort Sequence, which will activate all Abort-related parts, and decouple all decouplers. Abou the cameras, yeah, that would be cool. It had in fact occurred to me that it would be a nice feature. Good to see people are having the same ideas! About the parachutes, right now they won't deploy unless they're activated as a part of the staging sequence, but I also plan to change that, and let it deploy automatically (maybe a different parachute for that), or by hitting some key. You could also use this key to force it to deploy, even above the preset opening altitude, or even cut it away (and suffer the obvious consequences) Cheers
Jeb is impressed by size. Oh fucKKKKKK. Lets separate that bottom stage. Hey, that's better. Lets try to steer this baby into orbit. Outta fuel. Okay it wasn't supposed to separate that entire thing, but I guess that's fine. Trying to fix my attitude before igniting next stage. There we go. Sort of. Or not, alright lets separate that stage. Now we're rocking! fuckfuckfuckfuck separate that bitch. Fuck I'm going downwards and I'm dangerously close to the atmosphere. Uppppppp. Now this is more like it! Stabilizing my elliptic orbit to have a perikee well above the atmosphere. Tada!
Just a little tweaking is what's need...
What mods are you using?
V .10 features announced here They are hinting at the moon and will fix landing on the dark side in the next few versions!
I hope after Kuna we get Kars, Kenus, Kupiter, Katurn, etc.
HarvesteR basically flat out said, no moon in 0.10, most likely in 0.11. The new terrain engine is to make the moon easier to implement.

Finally got my pre-order confirmation email.
Hm, I'm currently trying to create my own mod, a school bus! The objective will be to drag that heavy piece of junk into a stable orbit and earn your well-deserved Kerbal acclaim. Addendum: ... At least that was the plan, I can't find a good model to use, and my 3D-modelling ability is next to zero. :(
