3GB of RAM on a quad-core makes it pretty easy to multitask with something like KSP in the background, so it wasn't just sitting there. And iBUYPOWER does a great job of wiring and fan arrangement so my computer stays pretty cool even when gaming for a few hours.
My laptop, on the other hand, may as well have been salvaged from the fires of Mordor after a few hours [del]gaming[/del] light usage..

something incredibly weird just happened, i went into orbit toward the north pole and when i got there the ship began to turn laterally to the east, as though i hit an imaginary gravity pull that swung me around an invisible pole. wtf is going on?

I haven't turned my computer off since I set it up when I got back from Quakecon, so it's been on about 3 weeks.
My old dell has been on for the last year or so, since we're using it as a file server.
Just pre-ordered.
I turn off my computer when I'm not using it.
So it's off for like 16 hours a day.

Will they make it possible to fly to the sun? (imagine nearing this huge ball of fire, with solar flares & everything).
Also, I think the lens flare has to be in front of the spacecraft...

Y'know they should just add the whole solar system, with time-skipping/fast forwarding it would be pretty fun. Procedural rings & stuff...
Another idea: some sort of plotting of your path after you've flown (or during, unless that lessens the experience)

I can't wait to see this game in five years. My hopes are a full solar system or two, a fully mapped Kearth, advanced craft designing, and modding support for all of that stuff the developers don't get to.

That's not exactly fair to say, as truly modern computing has hardly existed for a decade.

Now that I think about it, I think the sun is just a sprite rendered in some kind of a skybox.
