Only really overpowered if you exploit them.
Does exploit count as using this to recreate the Saturn V?

[editline]4th September 2011[/editline] Flew this whole flight path on full throttle with only liquid rocket boosters. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] I think I may be in orbit for the first time!
Attempting to fly things that shouldnt fly is all too much fun.
The audio levels on this are horrifying.
Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of orbital analysis thing? When are we gonna see that, anyone know?
What version is the game on now? I'm pretty sure I'm still using the very first one.
The audio levels on this are horrifying.
What do you mean, I can see if i can fix it.
What version is the game on now? I'm pretty sure I'm still using the very first one.
Latest stable is 0.9, latest experimental is 0.10 x2
Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of orbital analysis thing? When are we gonna see that, anyone know?
They said that was one of their priorities before the moon, so I'm guessing that .11 will be either persistent parts, docking clamps or a trajectory planner.
I just made something similar to an X-15 as my first rocket plane. And it works almost as well as the real thing!
Saturn V parts pack is overpowered. The fuel tanks are huge and the rockets barely burn it.
Well it is supposed to fly to Saturn, right?
Well it is supposed to fly to Saturn, right?
This is a joke right?
This is a joke right?
Yes, right?
No, left.
I'm pretty sure I'm still using the very first one.
Would it be possible you have the rumored ancient 2D version? I would like to see it if you have that one.
Would it be possible you have the rumored 2D version? I would like to see it if you have that one.
The rumored 2D version?! I thought it was just a conspiracy! Could it mean... that this evolved from... a flash game?
Time for some K-15 action! (AKA: My first rocket plane!) For comparison, the Space Shuttle had a glide ratio of 4.5:1, while modern sailplanes have around 50:1. Now we even know how video games were created a lot longer before that.
How'd you manage to keep it level (pointing up) in atmo, as mine flips the hell out every time.
A combination of the SAS that comes with the Capsule, careful wing/throttle balancing (for example, it flips out whenever I apply full throttle) and luck.
Here you go. http://filesmelt.com/dl/KSP_v9.rar A quick hint, smash the stabilisation on instantly or bad things will slowly happen. The longer you wait on the launchpad the more dubious it becomes, remember this. Good luck, have fun.
so yeah i used this, and because i was running at like 2 fps i flew into the rockets i released in the first stage, causing some pieces to come off the craft, then i hit space bar too much and everything broke apart leaving spacejunk everywhere. Then i plummeted back to kearth.
Am I the only one who really wants things to randomly go wrong every once in a while, especially with cheaper parts? A stage not separate there, SRB fail to ignite or burn too fast here, maybe a few control failure every now and then?
thats too far in the step of realism, and this game is not about realism, it's about being silly
I just think that once the game is finalized, the cheapo junkyard parts should behave like them, just to add to the craziness.
thats too far in the step of realism, and this game is not about realism, it's about being silly
I think it's about simulation, but in the sense of like SimCity/Sims/SimAnt. Roughly realistic but still for fun.
Inspired by recent events at Dacheet Rocketry Unlimited, we decided to beef up our Konduran training jet and send it to SPACE! So far so good... Our Kerbanauts report seeing a milky stain on Kearth. We attribute this to Bob spilling his milk all over the cabin. A lot of milk. For a moment, we at mission control thought they had flown to some gas giant or something like that. Citing "I left the stove on at my apartment," Bill aborts the mission early. Initial descent, blah blah blah. We were all on lunch when this happened. Booooring. Explode or crash already. We got back from lunch expecting to see a rain of molten metal and chunks of body. John's so bored he's taking a floor nap beside his control station. Or maybe he passed out. He was drinking. Again. And there they go. Boring flight with a boring landing. We need more rockets or something.
Using a large rocket staged to my K-15, I managed to do a successful two orbits and land on the landing strip. I feel accomplished. Also, good job, HippyMan! What parts pack is that? I can't see in the photos.
C-7, Assorted Hardware, and Silisko Industries. Honestly, I love Captain Slug's Assorted Hardware pack. It's got modular wings!
I need places to explore. I feel like I need something to work towards in KSP
I need places to explore. I feel like I need something to work towards in KSP
10.0 is going to have a moon in it and it's going to be released pretty soon since there is already a experimental version out. Oh fuck i got the numbers wrong
