:wtc: does the gravitational pull ever stop? I was about 250 km from surface and it was still pulling me down
I'm a goddamned missile.

"Oh sweet touching down on the dark si- WHAT THE FUCK NOOOO"

My best so far.

The gravitational pull of Earth is much longer than the distance to the Moon, the Moon is nearly 400,000 Km away.
The gravitational pull of the earth is infinite.
I wish there were other planets. :(
I wish there were other planets. :(
Same here. I hope they implement other planets soon!
My parachutes never work, My guys always explode. WHY? WHY MUST THESE BRAVE THINGS DIE?
Same here. I hope they implement other planets soon!
Or at least a moon.

Next challenge: MARS!
... or whatever the Kerbals may call it :v:

why
why
How the fuck.
this game is fucking great
How the fuck.
I put capsules on my lower stage SFBs to attempt recoverable boosters ala space shuttle but apparently the parachutes didn't activate and the crew was stupid enough to sit inside those pods instead of the main pod.
As an aerospace engineering student, I find this game to be a load of fun. I think the liquid fuel rockets need a bit of a downgrade though; their "over-thrust" ability is way too powerful.
why
Did you used to have more command thingies? If one explodes they all die.
2 hours into the mission and currently at 22000K and counting. Going about 2770m/s. Pretty good for a completely bullshit and faulty design. Gonna wait and see in the morning. Good luck to all you other Rocket Men.
It works for me too. Two parts don't have any textures though.
Yes, the creator of those untextured 5 and 9 adapters didn't make any textures so I jerry rigged a mess to stop them from being pitch black, instead we get a rather dull green.
As far as limitations on building massive rockets go, my main few are "slinkiness" and slight misbalance leading to major leanage.
I generally counter the latter by moving some of the rockets ever so slightly to counter the drift, it works mostly.
My record so far for speed/distance was about 4500m/s at about 8500km then I got bored.
At that distance you lose about 1/20th of a m/s per second. I think it exponentially decreases the further away it gets, as it should.

Yes, it's parked up there. o_0

It's decreasing 0,1m/s every 4 seconds.
The gravitational pull of the earth is infinite.
My ship has gotten away from it somehow, it's currently at a stable 2674.2m/s, 50000k away from the earth
Or it decreases so slow you don't notice it
Or it decreases so slow you don't notice it
It hasn't slowed down in the last like four hours.
I found something interesting. You can attach parachutes to *everything*, not just the pod.
I made a fully recoverable single-stage ship. Lovely.

Oh, huh, I assumed that wasn't possible because it looked like a different connector type. Can you switch the view to ejected stages?
They should mix this game with universe sandbox, make your own planets, solar systems different size planets and all the features it give you in US, while being able to make your own space shuttle and take off and land on the other planets you made.
25,000 K away seems to be the point where gravity more or less stops affecting speed.

You can also attach the top of the capsule to anything. I made a few designs where it gets destroyed by rocket exhaust before it gets very far :v:

They'd have to change the scale a bit... you'd have to leave it running for a few years to get anywhere.
