Viola! I have successfully installed KSP across all my school computers.
No more 34600 meter 28 minute orbits ;-;
Why? What? What happened?
Why? What? What happened?
0.10.1
I'm starting to hate and love 0.10.1.
I think it's awesome that you can now decrease your orbit by barely entering the atmosphere. Beats the hell out of wasting fuel just to slow down 200~ m/s

Think it'd be possible to achieve escape velocity using only radial spin thrusters?
Think it'd be possible to achieve escape velocity using only radial spin thrusters?
Given enough fuel, I don't see why not.
Tried to fly gta-man's plane. ...Oops. When it first crashed it still had the other wing too and started sliding across land.
Not bad for a SASless rocket. This is the rocket used: Might save it and use it for when KSP gets a moon.
and 200 tries later i still cant reach orbit , hell i cant even climb to 70km without doing front flips oh man this game is awesome
and 200 tries later i still cant reach orbit , hell i cant even climb to 70km without doing front flips oh man this game is awesome
Sounds like what happened when I tried using a bunch of wings. Loads of thrusters, maybe a few spin thrusters, and then spin to stabilise.

yay reached an altitude of 130 km. but fell down shortly , how much speed do i need to get in to orbit ?
yay reached an altitude of 130 km. but fell down shortly , how much speed do i need to get in to orbit ?
Depends on your altitude. At 100 km you need a horizontal speed of 2245.8 m/s for a circular orbit, but 2220.2 m/s is enough to stay above the atmosphere. If you go faster than 3176 m/s at 100km you will never come back to Kerbal.
Vertial Speed =/= Getting you into Orbit, to orbit, its your horzontal speed that you need up.
Vertial Speed =/= Getting you into Orbit, to orbit, its your horzontal speed that you need up.
That's what I meant, I just didn't think, thanks.

Yay mannaged to get in to LEO , or shud i say KEO anyway next version has a time compression right ?
using some of those mods I reached around a 25-26k m/s and around 4000k altitude, I got bored and quit the game because after 15 minutes that .4 at the end of my speed was still the same :v: nevermind, just reached 41k m/s and around 41700k altitude :v:
I used the aviation pack to get into orbit. This was my entire ship:
Those compressed fuel tanks are kinda.. cheating in my opinion. Low weight and size, can store a lot of fuel, and has standard resistances regarding force and temperature I believe. Do tend to use them for making wobbly sections on my rockets.
Yay mannaged to get in to LEO , or shud i say KEO anyway next version has a time compression right ?
LEO = Low Earth Orbit KEO = ???
I went into a circular orbit at 64.744km, it lasted a little over 75% of an orbit. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline]
LEO = Low Earth Orbit KEO = ???
Kerbal Earth Orbit I think he meant LKO.
I absolutely cannot build a decent plane. They're always clunky and horrible and somehow never land right. It's a damn shame. Any tips?
