Is the red parts glitch fixed in the latest test version?
They have changed the texture loading model, so the mod makers will have to change their textures. All of the packs will likely be fixed before the actual release of .11.
New problem, how can I stop all of my larger ships from spazzing the fuck out on the launchpad?
New problem, how can I stop all of my larger ships from spazzing the fuck out on the launchpad?
I usually just add more struts when that happens.
I really hope there will be more powerful RCS's, they'd be great for lunar landers well maybe the ones we have now already are powerful enough, the gravity on the moon is of course much lower.
Kyle and I are working on more powerful ones for larger rockets and also different RCS tank sizes.
I'm going to make a dropship using them [editline]7th October 2011[/editline] You can land on kerbin with 32 RCS boosters, a pod and 2 fuel tanks if the second fuel tank did work... now it's just bugged. [editline]7th October 2011[/editline] oh wow you can smack a maximum of 24 RCS on one RCS fuel tank
My first successful flight to space and i have enough fuel to return home. Where can i get some satellites for my next journey? Will all the shit i leave in space be seen again when i fly another spaceship?
no.
Will all the shit i leave in space be seen again when i fly another spaceship?
Not yet, it's a planned feature though. [editline]7th October 2011[/editline]
if the second fuel tank did work... now it's just bugged.
Going to be fixed in the next experimental. It will also drain from the lowermost RCS tanks first so that you can use them on lower stages without wasting fuel for your uppermost stages.
that's pretty clever thinking
Those two are always afraid, when Jebediah is alive and on-board.
Unfortunately I couldn't make it more circular because the ship somehow went uncontrollable (really weird and difficult to explain)
What happens when the game gets stuck on the loading screen at boot? I have the Challenger Pack, the Saturn V Pack, SundayPunch Pack, and a few random pieces of hardware (solar collecter, landing legs, underside 1m cone.) Is there one specific piece that causes this or is it too many parts in general?
For me it just takes a very long time to load completely. Does anyone know when the full version will be released, or when a new version will be released which actually has the moon?
For me it just takes a very long time to load completely. Does anyone know when the full version will be released, or when a new version will be released which actually has the moon?
Moon is expected for the next version after the next version. Which means 5-6 weeks.
I found the problem. I accidentally extracted the Saturn V Pack in its main folder rather than just extracting the parts, so every time KSP tried to boot it was encountering a parts folder with multiple parts in it.
A new experimental is out! Windows: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ygy3q8teosnzweg/KSP_win_0_11_x3.zip Mac OSX: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lqtfldzk1jrjv81/KSP_osx_0_11_x3.zip
New stuff:
* Added a proper liftoff/touchdown/splashdown detection system. * After the pod makes a safe splashdown/landing, the mission will be considered a success. * Changed the Flight Tutorial to include the new features added on this update. * Map Icons now properly organize their popup texts if multiple icons are hovered at the same time.
Fixed stuff
* RCS stops working if a single fuel tank runs dry. - Fixed, and made it start draining from the bottom first. * Deorbited/Landed parts no longer stay or go into propagated orbits. * SAS Input authority. - Changed the Advanced SAS module to do it's adjustments to the input feed BEFORE it's sent out to the ship. That means all parts on the ship can now respond to Adv SAS. (provided it's connected, of course)
fuck yeah
* After the pod makes a safe splashdown/landing, the mission will be considered a success.
No more boats!?
No more boats!?
Need option when mission end, continue or end.
What is meant by propagated orbits? It keeps track of satellites?
Need option when mission end, continue or end.
You can just click close on the window that pops up. [editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
What is meant by propagated orbits? It keeps track of satellites?
I think they mean what happens when you go into 10x warp. When you go into 10x warp it changes from a physics based simulation, to a pre-calculated simulation of the orbit you're currently in. This disables physics on your ship, but lets you speed the game up a lot. That's also why you can't go over 4x in the atmosphere (it needs physics for drag calculations and such), and why you can't go into 10x when thrusting. And it's also the reason why your ship doesn't rotate when you are at 10x or above.
Listening to this while breaking Kearth's Orbit into the void is magical. Lost in Space the 3 astronauts are many many millions of miles away from home. Jeb's Major Tom
Speaking of music we play while playing KSP I play this song when i am in orbit
It would be cool if this game eventually has multiplayer and turns into something like gmod spacebuild where you can colonize different planets and moons and stuff.
It would be cool if this game eventually has multiplayer and turns into something like gmod spacebuild where you can colonize different planets and moons and stuff.
A scoreboard that says the highest anybody has ever gotten would be cool or the longest flights.
I thought of a fun gamemode in KSP, in which 1 person has a giant rocket, and several other very small ones. The idea is that the small ones try to make the large one explode, using themselves (or somehow an unmanned missile) to fly into the large ship

Basically you get a random payload and have to put it into orbit. The pay load could vary from a satellite to nuclear waste that has to be disposed.
