[editline]14th October 2011[/editline] needs more booster
This is the N1 all over again, except this is sexier. And has more engines on the bottom. This has 36 induviduall nozzles just on the bottom there. The N1 had 30, and all four they tried launching blew up :v:

That central one may look like four, but it's actually four ignition chambers hooked up to a single pump. Engine is the RD-170 if you want to look it up.
Weight problems? We ain't no stinkin' weight problems. If I can get this to hang on the pad for 2 minutes unassisted without flipping shit, everyone should be able to! Jeb would be pleased, had he survived. craft file and parts list?
craft file and parts list?
Kickasskyle is one of the dudes making the Challenger pack man, a lot of that stuff isn't even released.
Kickasskyle is one of the dudes making the Challenger pack man, a lot of that stuff isn't even released.
Someone on the KSP forum was saying other mods just fall off my parts, so I jammed as much crap together as possible and then made it balance on the pad for ages. It's just loads of Sunday's,stock,KW and nova's crap all jammed together in as shitty of an arrangement as possible. I tell them heavy struts man, they just don't seem to get it.
First orbit ever, nailed it.
If you have Nova's and Sundaypunch's stuff, with all the textures fixed, could you pleasepleaseplease upload it somewhere please?
If you have GIMP or some similar image processor, all you need to do is add an alpha channel and erase a non-important part of the background and save it.
If you have Nova's and Sundaypunch's stuff, with all the textures fixed, could you pleasepleaseplease upload it somewhere please?
Most of Nova's stuff seems to be fine. It's sunday's stuff that is all reddish. Also, what MC3 said.
Ap - 127 Km Pe - 107 Km I'm pretty please with it. The orbiting object is: Parachute, Command Pod, RCS Fuel Tank, Advanced SAS module, 2x Liquid fuel tanks, 1x Liquid thruster, 8x RCS thrusters. One full tank of fuel left for de-orbit.
Yes, that is a real spacecraft concept by the USSR.
If you have GIMP or some similar image processor, all you need to do is add an alpha channel and erase a non-important part of the background and save it.
or just open in paint and save, which also fixes it, but theres a ton of textures to go through, i was just saying if he'd already gone through and fixed them all it'd save a few of us a lot of trouble. [editline]15th October 2011[/editline]
Oh god someone needs to make parts for that right nooooow
KW PAck 1m Tanks + the 4 Nozzle Thruster and 3mtank with 4 nozzle thruster...done!
But with more explosions.
My first lander test Everything went better than i expected:v:
Can anyone show me a design of an elegant rocket with vanilla parts that can orbit and return back to earth? I can only build these towering monstrosities that can get into orbit but that's the end of it, no fuel left to return then... Oh and an image explaining the orientation ball thingie (the symbols on them)
Am I the only one struggling with rockets seemingly wanting to tilt like shit after flying for a while? [editline]15th October 2011[/editline] In these newer updates.
Am I the only one struggling with rockets seemingly wanting to tilt like shit after flying for a while? [editline]15th October 2011[/editline] In these newer updates.
They do seem to like this, probably to do with the shifting center of mass because of fuel getting eaten up from the top-down. RCS's should* fix this. And on that note, not to long left before we poot those out.
Goddamn I just realized why. I put RCS fuel tanks on the rockets I attached on the sides. :downs:
Because of KSP, I decided to get Orbiter and see how it's like. And shit, don't get me wrong, it's crazy cool, but holy fucking jesus motherfucking shit is it complicated
It's made extra complicated by the fact that the game is essentially supposed to be an STS simulation, and the STS has the most complicated ascent profile in launch vehicle history. It is the pinnacle of aerospace engineering and technology, which brings with it a lot of challenges. So you can't expect to just hop into the pilot's seat and have her go. What you can do, though, is go to the Atlantis autopiloted launch in the Demo section of the scenarios list, load it up, and see how it's done.

Light speed?
Well, NaN is "Not a Number", so it could technically be infinitely fast? :v: Also, does anyone have a link to/would be willing to post the fixed version of SP?
There's a glitch if you press . and , at the same time (or very close, just spam them), your speed doubles. [editline]15th October 2011[/editline] I think it's the switching between 1x and 2x that does it, and it isn't fast enough to change one of the variables or some shit.
Remember that concept of the Vulkan-Hercules I posted last page? [thumb]http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_snj0G2jlkKc/TSnNQGQbIgI/AAAAAAAAB0Q/S5or8-wGaIs/s1600/vulkan.jpg[/thumb]
Also, when going really fast, this happens:

Or change the model of one of them to four nozzles? The "boosters" run out of fuel after the main engine :v:
Does anyone else keep losing control of their rocket? I get up to ~60km and my rocket starts tumbling like crazy and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
