Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

These days I can't fucking get into orbit to save my life. So I'll just say I managed to cover 957089.5m during my launch.

Challenge A-fucking-ccepted.

Nailed it.
(Yes, I made this in the time between your post and mine. At 1:30am)
Is fuel supposed to flow through decouplers? I made a two-staged plane but the first carrier stage is using up the fuel from my actual plane.

Yes

Thats a problem I've been having as well. Fuel from the central fuel tank is being used by auxiliary thrusters. They will probably add in controls for this eventually.
Hey I just thought of this: wouldn't it be cool/useful to be able to reroute fuel from fuel tanks with pipes? They'd work like struts in the sense that you pick begin and endpoint (source tank and the target tank/engine) and the pipes would "stick" to the ship and only use right angles (so it looks neat). It would add to the complexity/looks of the ship and it'd be really useful...

What you guys whinin' about.
Alright you win :(
RCS makes piloting so much easier and more precise.
Once the devs implement the ability to select pilots what do you think the difference between them will be? Maybe more fuel efficiency? More precise turning? Maybe they'll have different personality types that dictate whether they keep cool like Jeb or freak out like his brothers.

I think that Jeb, Bill, and Bob will be the staple crew and other members will be for certain mission specialization.
Looking back on the first pages of this thread is hilarious.

I forgot about how all my early spaceships were just bundles of solid rocket boosters.

Ah, the pre-symmetry days...

fuck yes
did my first orbit, semi-circularized, twice around and all orbital manuevers done using RCS

Someone needs to make the parts for this.

I now have orbiting and de-orbiting down to a fine art, don't aim towards the planet and floor it, simply slow your rotation around the planet and you will drop like a brick.

I did.
In 2007.

I love how easy it is now to halt rotational motion. Just have RCS activated and tap f.

That's a great vid. It taught me to be a little patient and not try to get 500m/s instantly. My best orbit so far:

I had 3 full liquid fuel tanks left at the moment but accidentally pressed spacebar, ditching them :(

Thats SAS control, not RCS.
Thats SAS control, not RCS.
It uses the RCS if you have an Advanced SAS module though.

Even then, the CP has its own counter rotational SAS.
Anyways.
Can't wait for the moon. Since it has no atmosphere you can orbit really low, so that will be a fun challenge I guess.

Yeah, I miss my 34500m orbits that took 29 min.
I'm more excited about trying 20m orbits.

Well, it is an orbit, but you have no fuel for deorbit! Some solid boosters could remedy that though.

I deorbited later using the RCS.
