I believe I promised you guys a video.
What kind of sick RCS magic is that?
Some fancy bending at 6:25 and a little onwards.

What?
Also ninja.

I haven't been playing the new version a lot. Just saw that it was RCS and SAS together :v:

Oh.
The Advanced SAS module uses the RCS to stabilize the rocket, if that's what you mean.

What issue?
After having watched all the success stories with pictures and nice descriptions to them, I felt that I had to do something similar. Despite not having managed to orbit even once or properly landed anything on Kerbin, I will now post my story.
It begins with this rocket. I don't know what to call it, but it's beautiful. Even though things are clipping trough its head it works as intended. I added some wings because they are needed when you're flying in space.

Halfway trough my attempt to orbit the gas ran out. Since space doesn't have gas stations I decided to separate my rocket.

Wheee... I don't know why I put a rocket there, I guess that was supposed to make my rocket deorbit, but since I didn't even orbit it was kinda pointless . . .

Anyhow, time to land like a proper KSP professional. I'm awesome.

Oh no, I miscalculated the distance to the ground. Why the fuck does it say 169 meters. I thought it took mountains into consideration. Even Jebediah is screaming.

But everything turned back to normal after a few taps on the Space bar.

Woho.
Mission partly accomplished.
Where can I get the lander feet? Sorry if it's a dumb question..

Swedish flat-packed furniture store ninja bastard.
Rated heart for beating me to it.

My cheated parts aren't acting cheated at all. They act like the vanilla fuel tank and liquid engine
I'd love to see some new vanilla engine part that still makes orbit not piss easy but allows more elegant rocket designs...

Getting into orbit is pretty easy now, this coming from someone who struggled to orbit previously.

Did you copy the original vanilla part folder?
I've found that gradually reducing thrust at higher altitudes conserves fuel in the event that you want to deorbit.
Gradually reduce the throttle, always, so that its always just accelerating you.

Yeah I tried it a couple of more times and I seem to have got it. The orbit display is making is so much easier.

The orbit-o-meter is the sole reason I'm in orbit nowadays. I just get up to the right altitude and jet off to the side until the orbit completes itself on the map. It worked once. The other times, I kept running out of fuel.
Also regarding your previous post on the altitude in the mountains thing, it says your altitude above sea level, not ground level.

Yes, but I edited the the "part" file and it worked on the experimental releases of .11

At about 10,000m you start leaning in a direction, do it at 10degeee increments every few thousand feet, once you're abut 40,000m up (going around 1km/s, throttle down your engines and align to the horizon (the yellow indicator probably won't be level with that, but it can wait) wait till you get tothe apex of your arc and when your speed starts dropping on the vertical indicator, gradually throttle up, moving the heading inticator closer to the horizon, keep toggling your map till you get about 10-20,000m from the Perigee matching the Apogee and then, use low thrust levels to slowly get yourself in as circular an orbit as you can.

Look to this for what's happening (because I'm a lazy fuck.)

Man, my space plane flew apart because i forgot i was on 2x speed on reentry...Was such a perfect approach too...
Can anyone link me to the sattelite part? I can't find it anymore.

Need a mirror to KSP 0.1.1 And please but please not in dropbox its slow as hell and in KSP its just same and wont download.

Thanks, just one weird thing, apparently all additional parts are red now? o.O
Because the way textures are handled by the game, open them up and save them as 32bit.
Someone made an automated program that does that for you:
