You should try getting into orbit as a newbie at first, then it wouldn't feel like cheating. Also, mods make your loading time significantly longer.
I'm too fucking terrible at this to even get into orbit.
Numbers plz
It was a degrading orbit by the second revolution, it started as A:52k, P:80k, then the Perigee went down and down untill it was perfect for one revolution or two, then it started dropping more.
68k is the atmosphere's ceiling. Get it a bit higher next time.
So, my moon rocket doen't quite work yet..

What did you do to Jeb? He is... actually acting like what a normal person would... or at least what Bill and Bob is doing; Staring out the left window and screaming.
Scratch, I'll beat you to the moon in a rocket using only default parts!
Scratch, I'll beat you to the moon in a rocket using only default parts!
That IS a rocket out of default parts :v:
That IS a rocket out of default parts :v:
Then I'll do it faster than him! :v:
Don't fight kids, we all know I'll get there first.
All of us, at the same time.
All of us, at the same time.
direct ascent solid rocket to the moon will beat you all.
:v: you never said anything about returning
Fixed my graphics problem by updating my drivers.
Well, as a final thing today, I set up a simple dynamic ambient light control system here, to make subtle changes to the ambient light depending on where you are. Now, shadows are much darker in a vacuum (or on the Mün for that matter), and the ambient light can vary from planet to planet also. That means we can have a reddish mood on a Mars-like planet, or a purple-ish hue on a planet like Eve.
Note that I didn't set the vacuum ambient color to a full black, because that doesn't really yield very nice visuals... I set it to a darker tone, but the shadow side of things should still be somewhat visible.
Well, that should be enough for today. The entire day I was under the impression (the conviction, actually) that today was Friday... turns out it's not... That means tomorrow I'll have time to finish up the engine gimballing, and next week I can get started on having the planets rotate (no promises at this point).
Cheers
I was bored and wanted to stick some shit in orbit, so I got Slew's "Kubble" space telescope from here as my payload: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=3362.0
The rocket was overkill, had enough fuel in the second stage to swing around the Mun and back, but who gives a fuck.

My mission was to place the telescope in a circular 100km orbit, rendezvous with it twice and de-orbit vaguely near the pad.
MECO, S-I seperation

S-II ignition and LES tower jettison

Orbit wasn't quite circular if I'm honest, it was about 105km ap and 99 pe, but I couldn't be bothered to trim it so I dumped the S-II and deployed Kubble at 45 degrees

Rendezvous 1 and 2

"That'll do", the motto of my country applies here.

yep
I really wish I was good at this game.
Every time I try to install the game I keep getting wierd errors in winrar.

I've been stuck in this orbit for so long, how the shit do I get out of it?

Burn your engines retrograde. (The green circle on the attitude indicator.)
Aaand
My hard drive kapooted.
Can't run KSP anymore, and it'd seem I need a new Barracuda 7200.8 for replacement parts to get my data back out.

Do us proud.

What error do you get? Does it just load?
playing this game while listening to Everything You Know Is Wrong by Weird Al. Because everything I know about modern rocketry can kiss my ass.
I am currently in an 86,000 KM orbit. I feel accomplished.
Beginning a project to send the first crew of Kerbalnauts to the sun.
