Mun lander complete. It has enough thrust on RCS alone to get into orbit.
How do I use the RCS? I haven't played since a couple of versions ago and my messing around hasn't worked.
Scroll down until you see the payload fairing set 1.7. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=2251.0
How do I work these, exactly?
How do I work these, exactly?
0. Set symmetry mode to 2x 1. Attach an explosive bolt to the surface of a bulkhead or fuel tank you want to attach a fairing to. 2. Add a fairing wall half by attaching it to the stack node on the explosive bolt. 3. Attach another fairing wall half to the previous one, or complete it with a nose half. 4. You now have a fairing assembly which you can detach and adjust by clicking on the explosive bolt. 5. Moving the completed fairing assembly around on the surface of the bulkhead or fuel tank will allow you to adjust the size of the gap between symmetrical halves. How close you can get them together depends highly on the collision mesh of the part you're trying to attach the explosive bolt to, which is why I ended up including bulkhead parts. 6. Consolidate the icons of all of the Payload fairing panels into a single stage. 7. Test Launch. If you fairing tries to open as soon as your rocket makes it to the pad, then it's not quite long enough to cover the payload and needs another segment added.
How do I provide "thrust" with an RCS?
How do I provide "thrust" with an RCS?
Firstly, you press R to toggle RCS on/off. Then the RCS will assist in regular maneuvering. But, you can use IJKL to translate (thrust) in the same control scheme as normal, but you'll thrust instead of turning. You can also use H and N to thrust up and down respectively.

After winston fixed some collision model snafu's, we go it all in. All that remains is some tweaking and a moon. Hopefully the descent and ascent stages have enough kick to do their respective jobs.
Stats for the engines and tanks? Also, does it shove the bottom stage away and go all uncontrollable when launching the ascent stage on top of the descent stage?
Stats for the engines and tanks? Also, does it shove the bottom stage away and go all uncontrollable when launching the ascent stage on top of the descent stage?
Yes on the shoving the stage away, not so much so on the wobbley flight. Engine stats are 70 power on descent, 33 on ascent. They should burn for roughly 200s and 300s respectively. [editline]31st October 2011[/editline] Actually I fixed both of those problems with a little extra part, so it's all good now.
-snip-Was drinking last night-
ooooh man i just got home fromo a party guyss
How much have you had to drink, exactly?
bane for pui
Prediction: the next KSP experimental will be released on 10th of november.
Prediction: the next KSP experimental will be released on 10th of november.
:toxx:?
:toxx:?
No, a toxx is claiming something will happen, not guessing when. [editline]1st November 2011[/editline] It would be a toxx if he said "If it doesn't come out on the 10th, Ill do etc..."
Kickasskyle, is it possible to fold the lander legs like in real life?
How much have you had to drink, exactly?
He'll probably snip it when he wakes up.
Kickasskyle, is it possible to fold the lander legs like in real life?
No, that isn't supported yet. Once it is we'll look into it.
Cant wait till the game gets so advanced that you can make moon bases and orbital one's AND you can save your game.
Actually, I just returned to this thread after looong time to check if the moon bases and orbital stations are in yet... Nope, back to refrigerator.
I just got power back after 4 days. What did I miss?
Nothing still no update
Hey guys: This means you can go right through the center of the sun, where the gravity is very (like, very) strong. I'm a bit unsure how it will work exactly, but you might get some black hole-ish properties out of it.

I think it would tear your ship apart once your speeds go like, very high.
Yeah like when you start to wobble at very high orbital speeds and stuff

Time for 100 orbits/sec around the sun
