I just achieved my first legit orbit, just to find out that warping had disrupted my orbit. My periapsis was 11km off the surface (so within the lowest level of the atmosphere), as I was approaching I slowed down to 1x, my capsule suddenly started rotating randomly, and now my periapsis is 4KM for the next rotation past. I don't think I'll be able to make another rotation. Edit: Damn this game can look good.
I orbited moon and landed on the launch pad.
oh well there goes my plans for today.
Is it easy to get to the Mun with stock parts ? i tried and failed miserably, but again, last time i played this it was on 0.8 i think. It didn't have the fancy map, atmosphere meter and all that fancy shit.

I went through the moon, popped straight back out and started orbiting the sun at lightspeed (for part of it)....
Aww yeah. Now to take off and return to Kerbin.
Aww yeah. Now to take off and return to Kerbin.
If you land on or near the runway, I'm impressed.
If you land on or near the runway, I'm impressed.
Oh I will. I have no idea if it will do things like not blow up on the runway but I'll land there alright.
Anyone going to reenact Apollo 13?
Anyone going to reenact Apollo 13?
Already did, my third stage smashed my lander and left me with only RCS. Made it back though.
Oh my god, the moon! This has gotten a big update since the last time I checked! Can't wait to spontaneously explode several times over!
Again, aww yeah. Next Orbit is touchdown baby. Ground is still superfrictionized. Next update needs real landing gear.
I wonder if you can connect the lunar and Kerbal orbit. Also, I have left to see anyone land on the moon and return to Kerbin only by using RCS as shown in your previous attempts on a lunar lander.
My Rigel II Heavy Lift Rocket equipped with Challenger a few moments before launch. The Challenger LEM has made it's maiden voyage out of Kerbin orbit across 7,000 miles of space, dropped into a 1km orbit barely missing the mountain tops, made a series of RCS burns to put me on course for the inside edge of the largest "sea" and touched down for the first time on the surface of the Mun. As you can see, I touched down with about 3 seconds of fuel to spare. I am now relying on the ascent stage to get me all the way back, otherwise the three Kerbals that came in peace will remain... to rest in peace. ohoh kyle we dun gd
Im having trouble lifting off after the update and they expect me to go to the mun ??
Im having trouble lifting off after the update and they expect me to go to the mun ??
Just remember: When in doubt, apply more ducttape.
Absolutely love engine gimballing.
Fired the ascent stage and flew back into lunar orbit. Just before my TKI burn: So yeah, the LEM works. We'll release it pretty soon. Should probably have a larger margin for error when it comes to descent propellant, that was cutting it a bit fine.
Just remember: When in doubt, apply more ducttape.
And boosters and SAS. Winstonn, that's fucking amazing!
Wait the fucking mun uptate is out?
Wait the fucking mun uptate is out?
Nah, we've been photoshopping picture in wait for that update.
Nah, we've been photoshopping picture in wait for that update.
Im gonna go make a rocket whit the default parts now to reach to the mun.
Don't forget to download the green screen mod :v:
I got to the mün with vanilla, but didn't have a lander. did go for an orbit at 50m though, but hit a mountain.
So yeah, the LEM works. We'll release it pretty soon. Should probably have a larger margin for error when it comes to descent propellant, that was cutting it a bit fine.
How about that LEM, huh?
I could need that LEM right about in 15 minutes. [editline]4th November 2011[/editline] Quick tip on getting to the Mün: Get into a circular orbit above or below it. You will eventually catch up with it.
Hmm so it's clearly possible to land on the moon. New challenge: get the closest orbit possible to the moon (as there's no atmosphere to slow you down all you need to do is be high enough to dodge the highest mountain, which should be pretty low)
Anybody else get a G-shock on the pad? (when you look at the mission log you see huge G- readings)
How about that LEM, huh?
I guess you can keep your job. dem 13 quotes
Anybody else get a G-shock on the pad? (when you look at the mission log you see huge G- readings)
Yes, somewhere during that Mun mission I pulled 839 G.
