open Settings.cfg in notepad and add this: TUTORIALS_EDITOR_ENABLE = False TUTORIALS_FLIGHT_ENABLE = False
But how am I supposed to know what to do? I mean, look at me
Controll the rocket with WASD R activates the Rcs System T turns on the SAS Space goes to next stage / turns on the engine all you need to know :v:
The fuck am I supposed to do now. :v:
Geostationary orbit. [editline]4th November 2011[/editline] Can someone explain to me how I use the PLF 3 meter fairings?
I got an awesome idea for spaceplane missions to the moon 1:have some kind of cargohold inside your ship (perhaps some kind of frame-like part, in which you can place cargo) 2: go to Mün 3: dump cargo on mün 4: return safely on Kerbin.
Geostationary orbit. [editline]4th November 2011[/editline] Can someone explain to me how I use the PLF 3 meter fairings?
Oh shit, I forgot Kerbin rotates.
Oh shit, I forgot Kerbin rotates.
Basically, take off to the east. Also click the speed indicator to change between surface speed or orbital speed. [editline]4th November 2011[/editline] Also that trailer from last page should definitely be in media in the OP.
Awesome, got to the moon and back. Lunar descent! Touchdown! And no explosions this time! Bye moon! Hi Kerbin! Home! Nowhere near the space center, but close enough.
Controll the rocket with WASD R activates the Rcs System T turns on the SAS Space goes to next stage / turns on the engine all you need to know :v:
Thanks a ton. Thanks to you I had my first successful launch! Woo!
That was one hell of a post. I demand it to be placed in OP together with that video.
So you demand it, wanna fight about it?
Attaching the parts for the Challenger LEM is piss difficult. And when I say parts I mean the command separator, because I haven't gotten that on yet.
Hey, KW Challenger guys, don't get me wrong, take no offense because I really love your parts, but your packaging totally sucks. Don't add a folder full of the parts folders to an archive, because when you extract that, it'll maintain the folder file structure, meaning there will be a folder full of parts in the parts folder if you extract the archive to the parts folder, which causes the game to crash on loading. Next time, highlight all of the part folders you want to package, then add those to an archive. That way, people can extract all of the part folders in that archive straight from the context menu with no thought and have them automatically be arranged properly in their parts folder. It's not a big deal to repackage the parts myself, it'd just be nice if I didn't have to.
Skip to 3 minutes for the lower orbit, the first 3 minutes is the larger one.
Does anyone know the highest elevation on the Mün?
This should be good. :v: edit: after adding an Advanced SAS and some fins to the rocket I managed to orbit twice, then land near the runway (but not on it, because I was approaching perpendicular to it.)
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot121.png[/t] Periapsis: 699m Apoapsis: 1228m And I Just missed hitting a mountain by a couple dozen meters.
Haven't played since 0.8.0 or something, what did i miss?
Mün :v: Also I tried several times to land on the mün today, and every time I ended up orbiting the sun :tinfoil:
I think I may have found a glitch. I keep flying past pieces of rocket that I didn't put there. They also fly by at regular intervals and don't collide with anything because one passed through my lander. It's difficult to get a screenshot because they're moving so fast. It's near the top center: [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/glitch.png[/t] [editline]edit[/editline]
Mün :v: Also I tried several times to land on the mün today, and every time I ended up orbiting the sun :tinfoil:
What I do is I go into an elliptical orbit that crosses the Mün's orbit and I warp until I get captured by it's gravity.
Does anyone know the altitude for a Keostationary orbit?
Almost managed to get into Mün orbit with default parts, but guessed the required speeds and angles wrong and ended up flinging myself into deeeeeeep space :/
Does anyone know the altitude for a Keostationary orbit?
No idea. If you do some math, you could figure it out with ratios.
No idea. If you do some math, you could figure it out with ratios.
Goddamn maths...
Goddamn maths...
It's: R = (G x M x period^(2)/(4 x pi^(2)) )^(1/3) according to: http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/ask_astro/answers/970408d.html
Made this beast with mostly vanilla parts, used some heavy struts and a lot of SAS modules on top of boosters: Here is how it looks like when I "launched" it:

I was going to post my Mun landing, but Larpar crushed my puny little rocket.
A Kerbin day is 6,001273479783508 hours btw.
On my first try using only the challenger pack I managed to orbit Kerbin, then the Mün, then land on the Mün, fall over, still manage to slide over the surface of Mün and launch into Mün orbit again, then got into Kerbin orbit, then everything went wrong and I'm stranded in Kun (sun) orbit. :(
Rocket biplanes don't work as well as I'd hoped.
