Make it symmetric.
This man is lying, what you need is to put all liquid rockets on one side and all solid on the other.
Here's the official changelog for version 0.8.1. The list will grow as we take on more tasks. Tasks in green (bold since we have no green on FP)are already implemented. New for 0.8.1: * Added options to use Angle Snapping when placing surface-aligned parts. * Symmetrical placement mode in the VAB. Bug Fixes: * Fixed bug where starting a new ship with a loaded multi-stage ship would create empty stages * Some ship designs appear to get slightly stuck on the launch pad, making liftoff difficult. * Correction of aerodynamic drag and atmospheric density models.
[editline]9th July 2011[/editline] Hurah, easier to connect boosters sideways now without having to fear they aren't placed corret
This is awesome. Now to find out how many boosters i can add with it still being able to take off :v:
It'd be cool if you actually had some kind of missions in which you would've to get an satelite into space. Or the ablility to go to mars and such. [editline]9th July 2011[/editline] oh well, the game is just a week or 3 old, so who knows!

Hello Everyone! Our first public release (v0.7.3) is up for download. So I thought I’d take a moment to talk about how the game is being developed, and a little about who we are. My name is Felipe “HarvesteR” Falanghe, and I’m the lead dev for KSP. The Kerbal Space Program is an idea that was born a long time ago, which I carried with me through Game Design college, and now finally I’ve been given the opportunity to put it into practice. We are a small team, without a huge budget, and this is our first really big game project. So we are releasing the game as a work-in-progress, so everyone can check it out, and give us ideas and suggestions for improvements, while it’s being made. We are working on this project following what’s called an ‘iterative’ method. We work on 3-week cycles called Sprints, and we aim to have a stable version at the end of each cycle. This means that it’s quite likely you’ll see a new update every 3 weeks. Unless we’re working on something really big, in which case it’ll be worth the wait ;) An iterative method also means that nothing is set in stone. We are always going back to things we did to try and improve them. So everything can be changed, tweaked and moved around as we go, until everyone is happy with it. Right now the main objective is to get a fully-functional sandbox, in which you can build anything you like, and fly it. Later on there will be missions, and space program management, and moons and planets to fly to and land on. Also, we’re counting on ideas and opinions from the players to make sure the game will be as good as we can possibly make it. So mind that the game is still a work-in-progress, and many things are not ready yet. The game will get progressively better in time. Ok, this post is getting a little TL;DR now… the next ones should be more interesting also. Have fun! Cheers
it's planned, in a few months this game will be amazing if the developers don't turn into notch and take 2 months of vacation every 3
How can I prevent my SRBs from Overheating?
Don't place them right next to each other
When I grow up, I wanna be a rocket scientist! Maybe I'll be able to make the next Apollo 13!
What about my USS Faliure or the 'monster'?
lol, rockets can flex and blow your shit up
Dear Spaceship: Stop doing fucking frontflips as you take off. Love, Dacheet

Aww yeah, highest launch yet, and still going strong. Ill post the rocket later, its a really simple design. Damn this game is amazing. Record so far is only 580k meters in altitude though. Never thought about going into orbit. Told all my friends about this game too and we sit screen-sharing our liftoffs via Skype, super cool.
I call it "Cluster Futs 1" pic wall [editline]9th July 2011[/editline] I just realized Jeb was smiling the whole time.
Jebediah doesn't give a fuck about anything, he just laughes his lungs out when the ship is going all insane in space.
I made it to 15000m, then I exploded. Rest in pieces little kerbals.
GR. How do I make my ship NOT do flips?
Overheating is a bitch
It always tumbles backwards, yet I have one Liquid Rocket each connected to a 3-way separator. [editline]9th July 2011[/editline] AUTOMERGE :argh:
This this needs: A way to place the same part multiple times without having to re-select (i.e. hold shift and each time you click it attaches a new one) . Automatic stage detachment (Perhaps a module?) Some sort of automatic path system (i.e. mission control, AI will attempt to fly the rocket along that path using the guidance). A way to attach things in the middle of the rocket without destroying the whole damn thing (Oh god i forgot to attach a decoupler between the pod and the last stage) Some scenery. A city (Doesn't even have to be high-res!) around/surrounding/near the spaceport would be nice. Some example rockets packaged with the game/sim, courtesy of the developers or community. An easier way to attach things to the side of the rocket so it doesn't get horribly unbalanced. Multiple rocket launch/multiplayer. Either timed or controlled/switch between controls by player, in accordance with the automatic launch/AI control detailed above. More engines, parts, everything! Looking forward to future versions of this game. [editline]9th July 2011[/editline] A time manipulation option. That one for sure.
My rocket got to 4400Km before I decided to end the flight out of boredom. Was still going over 1000m/s The rocket: HMCS Cloudpierce
300.000 meter fuck yeah.
I can not wait to see what they have planned for this game. Currently my rocket is at 427000 M and going. I want to be able to walk around or drives on the planets when I land on them
You guys want to go to the moon? Ok, we've gotten to about 2000km. However the moon is 384,403 km away.

Someone teach me how to use the side decouplers I must be fucking retarded because I can't get anything to connect to them
Someone teach me how to use the side decouplers I must be fucking retarded because I can't get anything to connect to them
At the moment, only SRBs can be coupled to radial decouplers. Also, he said that in the next version, there's going to be snap-to-angle and symmetrical placement options. Holy god yes. Also, he needs to release "large" parts, so that we can build Saturn V-esque huge rockets, that not only reach the top of the guidance tower, but also carry more fuel and can lift more weight. Our small parts are good for suborbital and LEO flights, but we need larger engines to carry us to other bodies.
You guys want to go to the moon? Ok, we've gotten to about 2000km. However the moon is 384,403 km away.
If we get some kind of navigation module, we can just add it to the rocket, set destination (once outside the atmosphere) and then make it fly in an orbit around the moon. You could have KSP just run in the background, and it would notify you once your ship has arrived. [editline]9th July 2011[/editline] maybe going a bit too far, but it would still be a nice idea. And you could still speed up the game (they said they will add the option to change speed later on)
The problem now is there is not enough "grip" to hold long rockets together, because the parts connecting them can only be connected at one point. This causes it to spaz at high speed and smash into itself :v:
