And how Jeb is always smiling.
I think the crew needs a back story.
I am going to write something up on Jeb, I might not post it though.
I mean those huge 'medium' boosters from the parts pack.
That wouldn't be using just vanilla would it? :v
The part I used had a thrust value of 700, and go to 10km/s with two fuel tanks from around 10k altitude.
Using vanilla, it would require four-five times the amount of fuel and that's from a 10k altitude.
So what is the name of kerbal Earth? Kearth?
Spent an hour on a flight, got some data:
Draw distance @ 1500km (at max settings)
3200km from the Earth gravitational pull @ 0.3m/s
4500km from the Earth gravitational pull @ 0.2m/s
5300km from the Earth gravitational pull @ 0.1m/s
6900km thrown to 34 degrees of rotation from 359, random shift occured?
Max speed: 3680.6m/s
Max G force: 90G

Getting the extra parts now, moon is 400,000km away, sun is 150,000,000km

Christ this game needs faster parts.

Warp drives plz.

SAS Modules help a ton.
I didn't realize I could just stick Five of them on and the effect would stack. Thanks, I can actually reach the sky now !
Christ this game needs faster parts.
Not really.
Using vanilla modules, I can get to 500 thousand KM in under 20 minutes.
Note to devs:
If you plan on adding super fast technological parts, please add some sort of research system for it later in the actual game.
Warp drives plz.
Yes but it would need to have a clever name like SAS.
Damn, what would be awesome would be clip on 'sides' for bits of the rocket, to hide all the exposed engines and crap until they're ready to be used.

'FHE'
"Fucking Huge Engine"

If there is a warp drive, it somehow needs to be hard to get. Maybe you would need to complete missions to gain money for anything beyond the basic set.
What we need is a program, which exports the rockets you make in this game into orbiter.
Funny thing is, I could see that being amazingly useful. Orbiter is a far bigger, far more complex simulator. This is a very well made quasi-simulator that's on it's way to greatness, but it simply can't match Orbiter in the level of stuff it could do (not yet). Imagine it, you design and test your rockets in Kerbal, and then export to Orbiter where you can really give it a go.
Stations and bases are going to be a bitch to do though.
Even if you manage to set one up in a stable orbit, getting back to it from the ground would be another challenge all together.

Hmm. How about a research system?
Could we make space stations to orbit the planet?
Op never mind answered
Could we make space stations to orbit the planet?
It's planned, but I don't see how at the minute - controlling rockets its still quite hard, especially in space.
Getting into a stable orbit is even harder without some kind of trajectory visualization.
Idea: have a moon station beta on the moon with a runway and launchpad. That way we could launch from there too.

Maybe you'd have to build it before you can launch from there? So launch from Earth holding some kind of lander with a colony module, travel to the moon, land on it, deploy module, new base!
Hmm. How about a research system?
Does anyone read my posts?
I suggested that just a few posts ago.
What about a programmable trajectory where you can plan a flight towards an object to dock or land on?
Although it would show up as the end destination on the HUD, the player will still have to control the rocket to be able to dock with a station or land on a planet.
Randomly generated planets would be dandy aswell.
EDIT:
Is there also some sort of ETA on the next update?
Hmm. How about a research system?
I think there should be two separate game modes.
Career: Would have research, money and missions.
Sandbox: You have accesses to every part and no money, research or Missions.
Looking inside the SRB part files reveals something about ChanceToExplodeFull and ChanceToExplodeEmpty, yet when I've dropped them they've always exploded, so I don't know what that's about.
Also, random failures would be pretty cool. And when engines explode, I wish they'd take out more of the spaceship rather than just the engine itself.
I think you guys are raising your expectations too high. This is a fun game but I doubt they'll reach the complexity that you all are suggesting.
I want to design a MIRV ICBM and then blow up stuff.
I want the planet to actually simulate gravity

The game is still very early in development so we have no idea how far the devs are going to go with it.
Our only hopes are that they go very far with the game because it has a huge chance of success.

I'm just saying that you shouldn't set unrealistic expectations for the devs
I want the planet to actually simulate gravity
I thought it already -did-.
Well you'll fall back to it, but if you accelerate to the proper speed, and when your engines cut your vertical speed was near 0, you won't remain at that altitude, you'll just slowly decelerate while slowly and slowly climbing faster and faster because you don't go around the planet at roughly the same altitude
