My new rocket is about as stable when launching as a dead fish.

Struts, guys. Lots of struts.
I had struts. It was still a dead fish.

We chose to crash in to the mun not becouse it is easy but becouse it is kerbal Jhon.F.Kerbal hey you knew that it will come eventually :v:
Jhon.F.Kerbal
...any news on additional crew members? [editline]11th November 2011[/editline]
I had struts. It was still a dead fish.
SAS, guys. Lots of SAS.

I just achieved orbit today, first try. The map really makes it really easy, which I like. Next step, achieving orbit AND landing!
SAS, guys. Lots of SAS.
And if that fails, more boosters. Solves everything struts don't.
Figured out you can put parachutes on anything so I made this....
Figured out you can put parachutes on anything so I made this.... *images*
I remember doing a lot of this with the radial mount parachutes. Would be useful when we get a budget and loose money by blowing up the space center.
Am I the only one who think engines should be a little bit harder to break when you're landing? I haven't played it too much, but I've "landed" on the moon thrice. Problem is, I'm impatient, so I gave it a bit more throttle on the way up, than I should. This means that the descent engine is out of fuel mere seconds before I land, and I have to land with the ascent engine. Problem is, no matter if I'm hitting the surface with ~30cm/s or not, it's gonna blow up. This is, of course, kinda realistic, but I'm pretty sure that it should probably be able to land somewhat safely at that speed. I think maybe soemthing like 1m/s should be the threshold.
the engines will survive if you land at 5m/s
the engines will survive if you land at 5m/s
Not the ascent engine, it seems.
How can I check which mods are compatible with my game without having to test them one by one?
How can I check which mods are compatible with my game without having to test them one by one?
Put them all in. Start your KSP and when it starts loading press ALT + F2 to open the console. Either it loads fine, and you close the console, or it comes up with an error (It will stop loading then) and look for >> NAME >> in the last few lines. That's the name of the addon that broke.
How can I check which mods are compatible with my game without having to test them one by one?
Mods don't usually collide, they just makes your loading time slower. My solution to this problem is being patient. [editline]11th November 2011[/editline] ...or just do what the person who ninja'd me tells you to:
Put them all in.
If it says cannot load texture followed by pathfile, it means its fucked right?
Yeah, i had some part from the TD pack break my KSP.
If it says cannot load texture followed by pathfile, it means its fucked right?
Every part pretty much displays that error. A screen cap would help.
Goddamnit, in missions to the moon, the rotation of the moon always catches me out when trying to land.
Another story of a successful failure: Sorry for the big image Made it all the way to Mun, perfect launch, perfect orbit, perfect descent, land at about 5m/s, all ending with 3 brave souls lost. Bill seems the only one aware of that last fact.
I just love seeing their retarded smiles while being perfectly unaware of any situation, for example that the fuel in the vanilla rocket wasn't enough to get them into orbit and they are now expected to crash into another continent without a parachute or boosters/RCS.
x4 is out! Bug Fixes for X4:
* Fixed a problem with the Floating Origin system which caused the ship to jitter on very high warp rates and speeds. (aka The Warp Shakes) * Fixed another problem which could cause the game to crash if entering/leaving another planet's SOI while on 1x or 2x warp. * (Hopefully) fixed a problem with 0 inclination orbits that could cause them to become reversed or rotated when transitioning between planets/moons.

x4 is out! Bug Fixes for X4:
I just want them to fix the fucking tilt left on tall rockets.

A pity that gimbals mess things up with ASAS on, otherwise they'd be sweet
Use RCS thrusters to stop all sideways motion..
That wasn't a problem, I was coming down straight and level. It's that I landed and my capsule slid of my engines after landing (granted I did land in a slight slope and slide for a bit). As for the A-SAS, I find that if you bring your thrust up slowly it tends not to over react as much.
