Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"
A pity that gimbals mess things up with ASAS on, otherwise they'd be sweet
I think maybe it would work better if the ASAS was less powerful when using gimbals than it currently is.
That wasn't a problem, I was coming down straight and level. It's that I landed and my capsule slid of my engines after landing (granted I did land in a slight slope and slide for a bit).
As for the A-SAS, I find that if you bring your thrust up slowly it tends not to over react as much.
Gimbal Engines + ASAS = overreact always.
You wouldn't want a gimbal engine on a VTOL craft in this game anyway. The main source of control for you with such a craft is the ability to pitch and yaw to vector your thrust manually, so your engine needs to be pointing in one known direction at all times.
Could someone explain me what gimballing is in KSP?

Gimbaling should be toggleable, or inactive whenever ASAS/SAS is on and you have RCS fuel.

Engines move their nozzles in directions.

Allows you to "gimal" or "vector" the thrust from the engines. Basically turning the whole engine nozzle to direct thrust.
Good people of Facepunch! I've just landed on the moon and returned! Finally! :v:
Fuck it happened again, maybe its something to do with my lander.
Its strange though, I tested the lander on Kerbin and it lands intact at below 6m/s, guess MuN just hats me.
also congrats to the above.
i have no fuel to comeback :(
i have no fuel to comeback :(
Only thing I can suggests is strap more solid rockets to your first stages, save as much liquid fuel for later.
At the same time removing excess weight if possible.
I have decided to land a city on the moon (like Kickasskyle did, but I'm gonna try to keep it upright)
Wish me luck guyze.
I feel very greedy or something because even though this awesome mun update has come out (not even fully yet) I'm already dying for what will be added next :v:
I'm so edgy!

Whats a good lander?
Links?
I assume it is in fact possible to get to the moon and back with stock parts?
Is there any other easier way to put fairings besides trial and error?
We're working on some new fairings and adaptor/decouplers.
Here's the 1m to 1.4 adaptor with 1.4m payload fairings.

We'll have those in 1.75m and 2m aswell.

Can you try to make a part for the fairings that make them change size so I can contain my 1 meter rockets and my 2m lander?

Just thought that it would be cool to if KSP had nukes. Also, is it possible right now?

The ever elusive 3m fairing.

First attempt to orbit, worked out well, then i gave some extra throttle and now i'm going to try to orbit Mün :D

Sometimes the "Pe" sign is not actually behind the planet but on it and you end up crashing into it so look out for that.
It might also be inside the atmosphere which means you will slow down.
Do a burn at the Ap to increase Pe altitude.

Speaking of orbits how do you even "Circulize" one?
I cant find any good orbiting tutorials and i found one that is being spammed for viagra.
Speaking of orbits how do you even "Circulize" one?
Well, you can either burn prograde (forwards) at the Ap to increase the Pe until it's the same altitude, or you can do a retrograde burn at the Pe, to decrese the Ap until it's the same altitude as the Pe.
You're not going to be getting a 100% perfect circular orbit, but you might be able to get it very close.

Got to the Mün in just under 5 hours.

Waiting on the eclipse.

Also the fuel tank lying there is from my second stage, I used it to slow down and let it go at about 1km, everything else exploded, but that survived.
I am waiting for those sexy, sexy, payload fairings in K&W's pack. :v:

I did 2 more orbits after that image and then i finally got close to the mun..
Open the sounds folder and play the editorloop01.ogg on a loop while developing new rockets. Its like motherfucking onestop.

Yeah, well. It kinda was perfect. I just was too stupid to start breaking soon enough:

Next time im slowing down to 100m/s right away and just slowly descent :v:
