So, is it still okay for a completely new person to get into this game, it seems it takes a lot of learning to do anything.
It's really not that hard of a game. Most of us just learned through trial and error. The biggest thing I would suggest would be playing the game with only the stock parts and a few tutorials, then go all out with crazy oversized contraptions and aftermarket parts. Plus, we're always here to help you steer your rampaging towers of flame into the stars.
oh dear jesus, i didn't understand how there was so much hype about this, but jeez, it's awesome, anyone wanna add me on steam and kinda help me through it?
Just download it and play and follow the tutorials. Look up anything that you don't know if the tutorial did not teach you enough. Or ask us for help.
The one problem is now there is not an orbital maneuvers tutorial.
hey, lordcrypto, accept my steam invite :) also, i got a spaceship into space on my 3rd try after figuring out the detachment system, dunno if good or bad again, how do i zoom out more in the vehicle assembly? i need to add stuff that makes it longer but cant
again, how do i zoom out more in the vehicle assembly? i need to add stuff that makes it longer but cant
Click down on the scroll wheel and pull down.
Alright, I'm writing up a guide to be posted here. It will have basic tips and tricks, orbiting Kerbin and Mun, then landing on the Mun and returning.

Anybody have an alternate mirror for .12, the .zip always thinks it's empty or something...

I just love how the download/upload sites have ads that all have a download button
I'll take you up on that
Lol, I need your steam id bro
I just love how the download/upload sites have ads that all have a download button
I had a friend that I tried sending something on one of those sites... he kept complaining that every time he hit the download link, it just opened an ad. I couldn't see them since I had adblock, so I thought he was crazy/had spyware.
Reminds me of these youtube audio converters where you have to hit 3 download buttons which were in a corner written in small text while almost the entire screen is covered with giant text saying "DOWNLOAD" which is just an ad. :v:
Anyone got a default-parts ship or silsko edition ship that can reach the mun? I can't seem to get it right.
I don't know why people think using the stock parts to do things takes skill, it really just takes patience.
And creativity! You remember when NarPar blew our minds by getting into orbit with a rocket only having a few fuel tanks and a single engine. :v:
And creativity! You remember when NarPar blew our minds by getting into orbit with a rocket only having a few fuel tanks and a single engine. :v:
And that is when I learned that its more efficient to turn sideways while burning out of the atmosphere. Symmetry and mod parts spoiled me. :( [editline]20th November 2011[/editline] Also why is my avatar smaller?
So I should hit d or l then for orbit attempts?
So I should hit d or l then for orbit attempts?
Either that or add a booster at the side of the rocket, make a new stage where you think you will be above 50 km, and drag the booster icon there. Then, once you reach that height, just hit space and turn Kerbal-style.
So I should hit d or l then for orbit attempts?
Not if you can't fly for shit on manual.
Just realized by using stackable parachutes you can stack 6 of them on top of eachother and use them for extreme aerobraking that can bring you down from about 300 to 65 MPS in 2 seconds.

I really want those fuel lines, the only idea I've got so far are disposable fuel tanks, but I am sure I'll get better ideas.
I just use them for mounting docking claws or payloads.
How do those work anyways?
And creativity! You remember when NarPar blew our minds by getting into orbit with a rocket only having a few fuel tanks and a single engine. :v:
At first I was confused because I didn't remember seeing anyone called NarPar :downs:
Wouldn't that generate enough Gee forces to kill the Kerbals?
You'd think so, but nothing short of exploding even phases them.
Well, a normal human being would die of the collision of his/her guts. Through this is Kerbal, nothing seems to amaze Jeb in any way. I just hope there would be a Gee force response system, like if you select a crew member with low Gee tolerance, he would die if you put him through a lot of punishment or possibly turn sick if you waggle the ship too much around.
Safe landings scare Jeb.
