Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

I pulled off my first mun "landing" the other day. It was a Probodobodyne probe that I hard landed (crashed) into the moon after a 270 degree launch with a major retrograde burn along the way.
The KW PLF pack just got a quick update to v1.0b, a few tweaks that add some nodes that aid contruction.

Already said this, but you should add a PLF embiggener (don't know how to describe it in a word)
Like, go from a 2-meter PLF to a 3-meter so I can fit my lander.
PLF adapters?

woo, pageking.

very yes

It is "on the list".
Thanks for the suggestions bro.

Now that's a landing!
Makes it easier to get out.
Someone needs to get to work on some Jeb plushies.
He's so darn adorable :3:
That feel when you land on the mun and go back and forget your parachute

Use a Sunday Punch 2-3 meter adaptor with 3m fairings on top.
Theoretically, if you had enough fuel, would you be able to aerobrake enough to land without a parachute?

Aerobraking is using friction from the atmosphere to help with deorbiting/reentry, not landing with drag.

Also, Postcount update.

5th place, bitches!
Bitches be jealous of my 2nd place.
Not for long.
10th place, I can deal with that.

I meant, if one forgot a parachute, they would be able to slow themselves enough to land in the water without exploding.
Well it is how we land on the moon. So why not Kerbin?

Except you're not aerobraking to land on the moon. I basically mean orbit Kerbin, bring your orbit into atmo, as you come through your perikee, burn to make it through the atmosphere, and repeat until you're coming in slow to kerbin.

Well in that case you'd most likely crash. Capsules are fragile.
Well, no point in not trying it!
Unless you can get it around ~10m/s, which I highly, highly, doubt is feasible.
[editline]26th November 2011[/editline]
Its crash tolerance is 14. I don't know if that's in m/s or what, but either way that's going to be difficult.
Solution:Edit cfg to have extreme crash tolerance.
Of course, that is however cheating.
And no one likes cheaters.
I once had a parachute break off at high enough speeds. But i don't know how fast you have to go to tear it off.

I've come in at over 3 km/s and had it work fine.
My Kerbals were a fine paste, but that's another story.
I don't think its doable, at least not right now.
Lol I like how y'all are fighting over who's posting the most in this thread.
It's cute.
You're just bragging because you have the top spot :colbert:
