Solar system escape velocity.

1.Fly through the sun
2.Done
Piss easy because the sun isn't modeled yet.
But I didn't go through the sun.

Didn't accuse you of it. Just saying its not very remarkable.

Damn, looking at the post back in July, this game has come a long way.

Also I love the Failcan 9. Cardboardbox is a boss.

oh? how is that thing working for you? launch any satellites with it yet? making th gyro currently aso it doesn't spin and rip the boosters off. sadly the heavy cannot work to full awesomeness till fuel lines are developed.

Its working great, just the ASAS gets really iffy once you try your second stage.
Also screenshots for the rest of you!:

Second stage was smashed by the first, emergency separated.

This motherfucker is too damn tall for the VAB.
It's not exactly too tall. whatever is on top is supposed to sit inside the fairings :D
As for the curshing of the secound stage. you need to lean it side ways before it gets that high. i turn it at like 12km. I hope it is not a problem once it has cargo. but that probably will not work till they fix wobbling links.....
anyway, as for the ASAS on the second stage i have no idea why it does that.... but i find just turning sas off and on after separation with out turning the engines on fixes it.
Also, the secound stage can vertically land on its own power when the fuel tank has a small amount of fuel left :) just as SpaceX intends for the real rocket :D

For me it just flips about until I crash it into the ocean.
eh. it is fixable after the second stage separates. The failcan9 needs some skill to fly correctly :) I have little problems with it these days but it can blow itself up if done wrong it seems.

Yeah, haven't piloted it much tbh. Does have some serious capability.

it will be nice when kerbal space rockets don't fly like a wet noodle being pulled by fishing string... currently any weight on top makes them sort of break 50% of the time lol.
but making the nose cones into SAS modules fixes the booster spin problem.
if only you knew that 'X' key kills your engines in Orbital view. and ijkl keys used like wasd makes RCS work in a none spin way. but nice video man :D
Am I the only one that prefers to keep the North line on the bottom of the navball, and instead yaw to 90 degrees instead of rotating around then pitching down?

no I prefer that as well.

First long video I've done.[/QUOTE]
What's your AP when going to the moon from the planet, 'cause thats the trickiest part for me, usually i end up being too fast, or too slow and just miss getting caught by the muns gravity.
and yes yes yes
boards of canada

What? That's not a Mun landing.. That's you playing tag with the Mun.
I usually land for 5-10 minutes and detach a (fake) science module then launch out again.
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
Good job on the rest though, I like how you handled that orbital transfer. (including the recovery from an orbit-gone-wrong)

Only one big gripe with this.
When going from the Mün and back, you shouldn't burn so that your Apoapsis is in Kerbins direction, rather you should burn so that it's in the opposite direction from the direction the Mün is moving. (The Mün and therefore also you are already in an orbit around Kerbin, thus going in the opposite direction of that will immediately get you an elliptical orbit with an Apokee around the Mün's altitude, and a Perikee much closer to Kerbin.)
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
I might make a video too.
Yesterday I launched my first proper rocket. I burned at my Apopsis to enter a proper orbit as LaparNar has taught me and I had a bit too much force it seems, as instead of orbiting Kerbin I ended up orbiting it's star, whatever it's called.

I'll call it the sün.
[QUOTE=mac338;33503551]I'll call it the sün.[/QUOTE]
Kerbol.
Aw.
Anyway, I just managed my first stable orbit, and I managed to get back to Kerbin safely. Hooray, I understand this game now.
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
I'm only one step from understanding how to catapult my enemies into the sun.
Uh, the Kerbol.
I want the sun to be modeled so I can throw shit into it.

That last stage looked like a giant jet engine. :v:
Favorited and liked the video. :P

Rolling 90 degrees puts you on the same orbital plane as the moon.
Going to attempt a direct ascent. Wish me luck.
I marked off my position on the map view every ingame hour, on a free-return trajectory:

Makes me want a built in history map, similar to the orbit map.
Hey guys, I just got Kerbal 0.12. What mods should I have?
