Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

IMO, there should be optional advanced instrumentation, say vertical and horizontal speed and other stuff.
Does the wings do anything at all?

Here's an updated version of my lander if you want to use it. Just put it in your ships folder.
Only change in this version is that the capsule is attached to the bottom now to reduce the center of gravity.

This is my spacecraft that gets up to 4km/s+ that I was talking about. You need to start out with full thrust and keep SAS on the whole time. Once it's down to the single rocket you can choose to attempt orbit or fly straight. Either way, SAS is not strong enough, so PILOT MANUALLY!

Dear Devs: please keep this as relatively simplistic as it is, thats one of the main points of fun is that it's simple to get into (but hard to master)
Hey guys I'm going to make a bigger fin for bigger rockets and scale its attributes, gimme a few minutes to tweak it and I'll throw it on filesmelt
Wow I managed to scare Jeb.
Multiple types of Symmetry would be awesome two:
Dua: One on either Side
Tri: 3 spaced evenly about the module
Quad: 4 Spaced evenly around the module.

They already made up to 6-sided symmetry.
I've got a story for you guys, I get a rocket that's stable into orbit around launch, go to piss, come back a minute later and see my rocket past 100000km and I freak out, then I look to my crew, and see only Jeb alive, when the motherfucker exploded (aka, set engines to max) I couldnt find the deaths of either crewman on the log, so I came to the obvious conclusion, after about three minutes in space, Jeb did what he had to to survive, he ate Bill and Bob.
They already made up to 6-sided symmetry.
up to 8-sided in fact.
Cheers
Decided I'm going to let this run overnight and see how far I can get. Intend to check back in 8 hours.
Wow the "Scale" line in the cfg did NOT do what I thought it did, guess you're gonna have to wait for that bigger fin
How do you use the symmetry?
Wow the "Scale" line in the cfg did NOT do what I thought it did, guess you're gonna have to wait for that bigger fin
No the scale parameter in the cfg is there to scale the coordinates from the nodes. This is because if you're modelling at 10x the scale you're going to export, you can just copy/paste coordinates, and the scale parameter will scale them for you.
You'd have to manually multiply the values, if you want it to be 10x the winglet :v:
But I'd advise tweaking it carefully and testing to see the effect of each change.
Cheers
And for some reason the radial decoupler doesn't work.

You can only put SRBs on a RDC.
Oh shit, just realized if I don't use SAS on my rocket that went 490k meters up it does this

Got it!

Not sure how realistically this will perform, but for that testing rocket, it worked fine - but I'm no rocket scientist, so I just multiplied the drag variables by a constant (5). Feel free to edit the values (not that I could stop you if you wanted to, but now you don't have to feel guilty for doing it)
You should have some sort of 1 vs 1 multiplayer kinda thing. Like a space race. One side plays the Normal Kerbals, the other plays Kerbals with very thick eyebrows, and with Russian cosmonaut suits. Their goal would be to reach the moon or whatever before the other side. Have the building part of the game be timed, so both sides have equal amount of time to build their rocket, and then have them launch at the same time.

I'd prefer just trying to reach the highest altitude. The moon is a very small target.
1222 km and counting, at 16:35 minutes

There could be different objectives. Moon race, Altitude, Speed, First to orbit etc.
On another note, I have just completed my first revolution. I am now in orbit around Kerbal.
It is really annoying to configure my stages, go test it, go back to the vehicle thing and have all my stage configurations for engines and stuff messed up.
I hate how you can't insert something, you have to delete everything to put it in earlier.
I hate how you can't insert something, you have to delete everything to put it in earlier.
Yeah, that can get a little annoying. You should be able to hold like shift when you have a new part selected and it would enable you to just insert the new part in between two already existing parts on your ship.
Ok attempting orbit.

I think I might over shoot.

No wait I;m falling too fast.
