Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

In the (building for constructing rockets, forgot name) I couldn't pick up the parts from the menu.
Also graphics driver crashed, recovered and left KSP running with blank screen. I vaguely remember someone posting a fix for that, but don't know.

Press Alt + Enter to go into full screen, then press Alt + Enter again to go out of it.
:D We need a damn fully fucking Ares with orion Capsule to go with it i say! winston makes yours more orion ish!!
anyway large probe launch. hit a mountain at the end on landing and everything rolled off. But i almsot made it back to port. oh well.
I'm hoping that they're making a spaceplane focused update, with the runway usable for taking off, landing gear, and a better aerodynamics model.
We need a bilateral symmetry mode too.
I've actually been keeping notes on stuff for KSP as I play it. I figure when I get enough or run out of stuff to add I'll post it on the KSP forums.
RCS thruster behavior
I suppose this could fall under 'Tweakables', but for some designs it would help to have RCS thrusters which only work in a certain direction. For example, a thruster set on the side of a ship set to only work when you use one or more of the translate keys, but won't fire when you turn the ship.
SAS 'throttle'
With the Adv SAS for example, often I find it too be too spastic, it would be great if there were a way to turn down it's response on your controls when needed.
Individually toggled parts
Again back to the Adv SAS, sometimes the situation calls for it to be turned off, either to save RCS fuel or because you need the ship to turn but still be dampened by the pod or another kind of SAS unit which doesn't maintain a heading. I've always thought it'd be great if I could just click on a specific part in the stage stack to toggle it on and off.
Center of Mass guide in the VAB
A togglable snap setting like the radial symmetry guide which snaps parts to the center of mass on the ship, a huge help for placing RCS thrusters to use them for translation. If the parts aren't placed in the exact center of the ship, they are divided along the length so they will function as rotation control as well as translation.
Bilateral Symmetry
The problem with certain ships such as Spaceplanes is radial symmetry does not always suit them well as they have bilateral symmetry with landing gear or stabilizers on only one side rather than radial symmetry with the landing gear and vertical stabilizers on both sides.
Map targeting
This would be extremely useful for getting to different objects, you just right click on an object in space (The Mun, Kerbin or some other object such as a space station) and then is appears on your Navball like the KSP launchpad does with the purple icon.
wait. there is a way to guifde yourself back to the luanch pad via nav ball?

I've found the solution! The building is called the Vehicle Assembly Building!
wait. there is a way to guifde yourself back to the luanch pad via nav ball?
Yeah, the purple Icon points the way to the KSC
So that's how that person in the video I once saw a while back orbited the entire planet once and landed on the launchpad. I think it was before the orbital map was added IIRC.
A laser altimeter would be nice, so you can use physics to figure out exactly how far you are from the surface, instead of the base height.
Also, putting RCS fuel tanks in stages so that your landing stage doesn't end up getting spent first. This constantly happens to me.
And I would love to have a digital vertical speed indicator.

i will you fat stinky bastard! been working on a space plane.
Very useful

why are russians so good in screwing up rockets?

Because they consult Jeb on their new prospects.
What shall I finish first, the Orion-ish spacecraft or this?
That cargo bay is 1.5m across.
The doors would just be jettisoned and you'd re-enter with it open, until openy closey door shit is possible.
That tank and engine mock-up is 3m.
Also, name ideas? I'm thinking Pleiades (ply-a-deez).

I think a shuttle would be a lot more interesting than the MPCV.

As do I, I just thought I'd see what you guys thought.
Also, what's funny

I say continue with this shuttle. I also think (and I know DX:HR used this already) "Ikarus" would be a good name for it. It's an audacious design that's flown irresponsibly, causing the thing to fall apart, which we know is standard in KSP.

I agree with this name, DX:HR was a very good game.
Re-modelled the cockpit, added a docking port and made a quick Kepler style telescope.

Put Kerbals in the cockpit!
If you can make the final stage allow ejecting the Kerbals, then I will sacrifice a my joystick for you.

Here is my hybrid of a munar lander and a space shuttle.

Whatever happened to the component shuttle mod, just seemed like they released a few versions then dropped off the planet (dohoho).

The guy stole the models and said he made them.
Well I guess i will stop working on this :)
Also, Winston could i get your docking ring? I will slap it ontop of Durgun inorder to bring about unified docking standards!!!!

hmm. many artistics. should i make it anyway? >.>
Winstonn, make your fellow FPers proud and be the creator of the first KSP unified docking system!
It would be interesting for there to be heating effects on re-entry.
Anyone have a good rule-of-thumb guide for trying to hit a certain spot on the planet during re-entry? (Such as the space center.)
Would be nice if orbital mechanics did some atmospheric calculations to determine where you'll land. (Assuming no interference from the player.)

Sure. I don't actually know how that sort of docking mechanism works, I just copied the shape off the space shuttle's one. It's like 0.6357m across, might make it something less dubious first, like 0.7.
