Erm...
I just went past 7000km with my new design. Still travelling upwards at 2463m/s, and I'm decelerating extremely slowly, I think if I leave this on all night I'll get to a point where I'm basically not decelerating at all.
On that note, what's the current record for altitude attained by a legitimate rocket (i.e, no modded parts and no cheating involved)?
Wow, that was weird.
As you can see, there's a reason why we want to have a new terrain engine. :v:
Oh, and new update:
Yesterday I downloaded the parts pack, and had a blast with it.
But I then realized that some features are desperately missing, and set out to put them in.
So now, it's possible to set aside a part of the stack. Just drop it anywhere that isn't the ship, and it'll stay there, semi-transparent. You can then pick up that bit and attach it again.
I had to rethink the symmetry because of that, and caught a few bugs with it. It's still not a perfect solution, but it's much better now.
Now, the last part missing is flagging the attachment nodes as taken with the symmetrical parts, and some more stress-testing for bugs, and the symmetry/auto-align/part-setting-aside set of features will be ready.
Then, comes the aerodynamic drag correction, and that pretty much closes up this update.
If there's still time, we might take a chance at the new terrain engine... but if it proves to be too much for the few days we have left, we'll leave it at that, and release the new terrain with version 0.9
Oh and the website is nearly good again. The databases have been moved to the new hosting, and all should be up and running as soon as the DNS servers update themselves.
Cheers

I- Er- What?
One more quickie:
Now, to delete a part, you have to click over the parts list with it selected. No more accidentally deleting something because the mouse hovered a little too far to the left.
Cheers
EDIT: Or, alternatively, you can press Delete.

This new update is going to be awesome.

Does that mean that the parts pack is going to be official in the next update?
Keep up the great work
AWW YEAH.

I was set to improve my stance after I saw a ship that reached 4500m/s.
Mission succesful.

If this is going to be a paid game, when will that be and how much will it be costing? I'll definitely buy it! I bought 7 games during the steam summer sale but so far haven't played any of them being preoccupied with this game!

Still going up at insane speeds... When does this become a record?

Yeah - what's it going to cost? Hopefully it starts out somewhere around £5 - £10 pounds for the very early alpha, and gets more expensive say , £15 in beta, and £19.99 or something complete?
Whenever i try to build a rocket, i set each stage how i like it, but a lot of the time it just switches back to the default when i try to fly it or go back to the building bit after flying.
I noticed that if I customize the stages, launch the rocket, and go back into the building, the stages will reset if I delete something first; if I add something before I delete anything, they stay the same.
It's weird, but it works. For me, at least.
Still going up at insane speeds... When does this become a record?
Goddammit guys height records don't mean shit; once you pretty much escape the pull of Kearth's gravity, it's just a contest of who leaves the game open long enough.
HarvesteR, please add a checkbox or something for automatic stage control. I find that when I modify a complex rocket I'm forced to rearrange my stages.
I'm sorry to say this, but I think Jeb is mentally ill.
It isn't normal to smile when you are plummeting to your death at 500 m/s without a parachute.

They all started smiling when they were just 400 meter away from the ground, without a parachute :v:
What are you on about? Smiling Jeb? Not on my rides:
They start screaming when half of the rocket vanishes in a firey explosion and the rest goes into a death spin. :v:
So that's what gets them all in a tizz.

Will that mean that we can remove individual items from the stack? I hate having to delete an extra SAS module or something because the stack is too long and having to rebuild the entire bottom of the ship.
And do additional SAS modules do anything? Or is one just as effective?
SAS Module effects do stack.
I was too heavy and powered my second stage.
First stage flew away.

At least this one managed to go somewhere. :V
My record as of now, nothing special.
The rocket blew up at launch though, so it's a surprise they're alive.

For those who don't know: you can add the .exe to steam, it works fine. Useful since the screenshot function doesn't seem to work for me (am I looking in the wrong place?)
All of my attempts have been terrible so far :c
Oh man. Even with the Tutorial I am having a hard time getting to space.

it could have gone a lot further but i didnlt want to sit around since it took like 5 seconds to slow down by 1 m/s
Since altitude records are meaningless once you've pretty much broken away from kearth's gravitational field, the more challenging... challenge is to get in orbit around kearth. It's a lot harder and a lot more fun as well!
Yay I finally made it to space but my pod is flailing around with its parachute out. Time to redo it but I'm glad I finally got to space.
